We had an amazing time at West Ridge Academy, where we hosted an outreach event to teach financial literacy to the incredible youth at the academy! 💡💵 Understanding how to manage money is key to a successful future, and we're proud to provide these opportunities to help young people build a solid financial foundation. We are excited to present Athena with a $5,000 college scholarship! 👏 We ask our applicants to submit a short essay about how they make a difference in their community. As the child of immigrant parents, Athena understood first-hand the struggles marginalized communities face when navigating the U.S. financial system. To make a difference, she volunteered at the VITA Tax Clinic providing free tax services to minority and low income individuals. Her goal was to not only complete her client’s tax returns, but to educate and empower them with financial knowledge. She also worked hard to ease her client’s anxieties and build positive relationships. Athena’s dedication to meaningful change is summed up in this excerpt from her submission essay, “Reflecting on the connections I have made with tax clinic clients, my perspective on accounting and the positive impact it can have on others helped me develop a stronger sense of social responsibility and deepened my understanding of the transformative impact of accessible financial services. Making a difference lies in the small but meaningful moments with individuals. I am actively contributing to the financial growth of low-income families, bridging the gap between the complexities of the tax system and overcoming barriers. As a person of color, I hope to work with other minority groups to ensure their struggles are heard, help them feel a sense of belonging, and inspire others to do the same” Congratulations, Athena! 💡 Teaching Financial Literacy to the Next Generation! 💡 Aspen, one of our amazing financial services reps, led a fun and informative discussion with students at Eisenhower Jr. High about the 50/30/20 Rule—an easy and effective way to manage money! 🙌 Aspen broke down how teens can budget their finances: 50% for essentials 🏡 30% for things they want 🎮 20% for savings 💰 Empowering young minds with the tools they need to take control of their financial futures is just one of the many ways we're committed to making a difference in our community! ✨ Big thanks to the students and staff at Eisenhower Jr. High for having us. 🙏

Franky spoke about his experience working with veterans.👏 Recognizing the many challenges of veterans transitioning from military to civilian life, Franky set out to bridge that gap. He organized and led career workshops tailored to veterans and their specific needs such as resume writing, interview preparations, and networking strategies. In reflecting on their work, Franky stated, “Through my work with veterans, I have had the privilege of positively impacting the lives of those who have served our country. This experience has not only allowed me to give back to my community but has also enriched my own life in countless ways. The resilience, dedication, and spirit of the veterans I have worked with continue to inspire me, and I am committed to continuing this vital work in the future.” Congratulations, Franky!
