The Five-Year Service Plan is a dynamic guide for UTA’s near-term future and we want your input. The changes proposed in this plan are based on systemwide analysis, community requests and feedback, operational and cost concerns, and other factors. UTA relies on public participation to shape our service. The latest public engagement period ends on October 6. Visit rideuta.com/fysp to review the interactive map and provide your feedback. #WeMoveYou

Earlier in September, UTA celebrated Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Week by recognizing some of our amazing Vanpool and Pass Program partners. We are grateful to have such excellent partners who are helping to create a more efficient, sustainable, safe, and accessible transportation system. Their work not only meets communities' needs but also significantly minimizes environmental impact by reducing the number of single-driver vehicles on the road. Congratulations to the following partners on their TDM awards! - University of Utah - Salt Lake City School District - Salt Lake City Corporation - Salt Lake Education Foundation - Fidelity - Wolverine Fuels #WeMoveYou

Are you heading to a game or activity tonight or this weekend? With all the excitement, stations and platforms will be busier than usual. Stay safe by keeping your littles close—better yet, hold their hand while waiting near the tracks. Remember, safety starts with simple actions, and together, we can all make a difference. Let's make sure everyone gets home safely! Learn more at: rideuta.com/safety #RailSafetyWeek

If you’re around tracks and railroad crossings, don’t race to beat the train — it’s not worth it. You can learn more safety tips at our rider appreciation event tonight at Murray Central Station. We’re teaming up with our K9 unit from 4-6 p.m., so come meet the dogs, ask questions, and learn how to stay safe near tracks and stations. Learn more at: rideuta.com/safety #RailSafetyWeek

Whether you’re walking, biking, or driving, staying focused near train tracks can save lives. Don’t let distractions take over — look both ways, take out those headphones, and put the phone away. Want more quick tips? Check them out at rideuta.com/safety. #RailSafetyWeek

In 2023 alone, over 36 railway incidents in Utah resulted in nearly 12 fatalities and 11 injuries. These are preventable, and we’re taking action. Today from 7 to 8:30 a.m., UTA Police will be out enforcing safety at crossings. Please, never go around lowered gates and always wait until the red lights stop flashing before crossing. Rail Safety Week begins today, September 23, and continues through September 29. A key element of UTA’s mission is to protect lives by empowering the public to make informed, safe decisions around rail infrastructure. UTA is encouraging the public to participate by capturing photos of safe behaviors throughout the week at railroad crossings or at UTA stations. Photos can be uploaded to X, Facebook, or Instagram with the hashtag #RailSafetyWeek — and tag @rideuta for a chance to be featured on UTA's social account. Help spread the message of rail safety to a broader audience. Learn more at: rideuta.com/safety #RailSafetyWeek

On September 12, UTA staff participated in the United Way of Salt Lake's Day of Caring volunteer event. UTA's Salt Lake Service Unit put on a carnival for members of the Life Skills Vocational Center, many of which utilize the UTA system. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute and uplift our community through this impactful day of service. #WeMoveYou United Way of Salt Lake
