Congratulations to Hanna Schmidt for receiving the ED System Daisy Award!! We are so proud to have you on our team here at Parma! This is what our patient had to say about Hanna - “I recently had a medical emergency and required a visit to the ER Nurse Hanna was very polite and efficient. Due to my symptoms I was nervous and fearful but Nurse Hanna was a very calming and reassuring presence. She was in complete control and nothing about my care seemed too big for her to handle. This helped my confidence in dealing with my situation .She worked very hard taking care of me, even unpleasant tasks. With her attitude, knowledge, and professionalism she is a real asset to the nursing profession and to the Parma Hospital. She is truly an extraordinary nurse by far. With thanks..” The Daisy Award is a recognition program to celebrate and recognize nurses by collecting nominations from patients, families, and co-workers. Great work Hanna!

When Kayla R., Assistant Nurse Manager, UH Parma Medical Center, was a little girl, she was inspired to become a nurse because of how a nurse cared for her great-grandmother. Even though she never learned her name, Kayla knew she wanted to be like that nurse when she grew up. Now, she’s inspiring other nurses just like the nurse who first inspired her. “I believe I inspire other nurses by setting an example and having a positive attitude,” Kayla shares. “I like to stay current on my own clinical knowledge and expertise so I can offer support to my peers and team. Empowering nurses to stick together is the best tool we have. When we motivate, inspire, and teach one another how to be better, we will continue to empower each other to be the best we can be.” If you want to work somewhere that empowers both patients and employees to be their best, join the UH team! https://lnkd.in/d4T_j-Ja
