Our charge is to enhance the UK research enterprise by communicating the impact of research across all UK colleges and research centers/institutes to general audiences and support the communication efforts of units under the Vice President for Research that serve investigators, staff, postdocs & students conducting research at UK.

UK Innovate at the University of Kentucky, the innovation, entrepreneurship and economic enterprise for UK Research, recognized and celebrated UK innovators at its Patent Palooza! event on Oct. 15. The event spotlighted key achievements from fiscal year 2024 and recognized more than 120 UK innovators who were issued 43 patents, had 66 licenses and options executed for their innovations, received two SBIR/STTR (Small Business Innovation Research-Small Business Technology Transfer) awards and 29 teams completed Launch Blue’s UAccel program. More than 1,200 people in the local community participated in the recent Robinson Center for Appalachian Resource Sustainability 2024 Field Day Week. “Field Day is about bringing everyone together and being a good neighbor,” Robinson Center extension program coordinator Rob Hounshell said. “We do a lot of research for our local farmers, statewide and beyond, with hemp, corn, soybean, hay, livestock and more. They get to see our farm, see what we do every day and get some tips on how to do things better.
