Our thoughts are with colleagues and communities impacted by Hurricane Helene, from Florida’s West Coast through Asheville, NC. Many of our team members are facing difficult conditions, with some stranded due to mudslides and roadway obstructions.   Despite these challenges, our team has mobilized to ensure support and patient care continue uninterrupted. We’ve arranged temporary housing, provided essentials, and we’re loading multiple vehicles at our Raleigh location to deliver much-needed supplies to Asheville. This effort is a testament to the strength and resilience of our Unified family. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to help our colleagues through this challenging time.    #UnifiedWomensHealthcare #HurricaneRelief #TeamSupport #UnifiedCares 💜

  • In honor of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth we are proud to share that 80 percent of our 75+ breast imaging sites now offer breast ultrasound for patients with dense breasts and for diagnostic purposes.   This significant step comes in light of the new FDA guidelines on dense breast tissue, which can make it more challenging to detect abnormalities. Access to advanced imaging options is crucial for comprehensive care. And our dedicated teams are committed to empowering patients and ensuring they have the tools they need for proactive breast health. Together, we are making important strides for women during October and beyond.

  • “If doctors simply dismiss women and say that their symptoms couldn’t possibly be related to menopause or perimenopause, women are not going to put up with that because a million other pieces of information they’ve reviewed online tell them otherwise.” Dr. Maureen Whelihan, a ObGyn at a Florida Woman Care affiliate practice, speaks to Fortune about how Gen X women are approaching menopause differently then previous generations and new research that is casting hormone therapy (HT) in a new light. • Did you know over 40% of women have dense breasts and as a woman's breast density increases, so does her risk for breast cancer? Understanding dense breasts and utilizing supplemental imaging, like tomosynthesis and ultrasound can be the key to identifying breast cancer at its earliest, most treatable stages. As of September, this year, the FDA has ordered all states in the US to notify women and their healthcare providers of their breast density type. Together, we can empower patients and healthcare providers to take proactive steps towards better breast health. #WorldDenseBreastDay2024   For more about dense breasts and the importance of breast ultrasounds, watch the video below from Dr. Aaron Sudbury.
