Union County is under a tropical storm warning. On Friday morning we will experience strong winds, heavy rain and the most hazardous conditions from the storm. With safety as a top priority, Union County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, Sept. 27 for students and staff. • There is no remote instruction and a make-up day is not needed. • All district, school, after-school and athletic events are cancelled on Sept. 27. • Principals will provide updates on athletics and events planned for this weekend. Please be safe. We encourage you to monitor weather conditions and properly prepare for the impact of this storm. On Thursday evening, our area is expected to experience heavy rain and dangerous road conditions ahead of Hurricane Helene. As a safety precaution, #UCPS is canceling all after school activities for Thursday, Sept. 26. This includes band, athletics, clubs, etc. The UCPS After School Program will operate on a normal schedule and close at 6 p.m. UCPS senior leaders plan to meet with emergency management teams tomorrow morning for additional updates. We will share information about Friday’s schedule by Thursday evening.
