Why do #UCPS and Parkwood High School need the #UCPSBond2024? "We are in desperate need of a new building to keep pace with the other schools in Union County. We have a strong sense of community and family here. It's going to help with morale, and quite frankly, a sense of pride in our school. If we can get the more updated spaces, if we can get the bigger classrooms, I really feel the population of students here are going to be unstoppable with what they can do. At Sun Valley Middle School, Ukrainian and Russian newcomers are quietly rebuilding their lives, forming friendships and overcoming the challenges of adjusting to a new culture. All the students who arrived share one significant commonality: they left much behind—schools, homes, pets, family and friends. They came to the U.S. seeking a fresh start. #UCPSBond2024: What is the estimated tax increase? According to the Union County Board of Commissioners, the estimated maximum annual debt service impact is $4,077,755 beginning in FY 2026. The annual estimated amount of property tax liability increases for each $100,000 of property tax value to service the cumulative cost over the life of the bond is estimated at $8.00 (based on 0.80 cents increase in the ad valorem property tax rate). This estimate is based on the legislative requirements of NC Session Law 2022-53 for bond referendums. Example: For each $100,000 in value, there would be an impact of approximately $8.00. https://lnkd.in/evcy6QqT
