Union Pacific is excited to announce a new business venture primed for growth in the heart of Kansas City. The railroad is leasing land and approximately four miles of track to Jaguar Transport Holdings, LLC , a leading short line railroad company. The agreement will enhance customer service and support regional economic growth by allowing Jaguar to offer five-day-a-week service to customers on an industrial lead, with Union Pacific focusing on fast, long-haul service. “Jaguar has a proven track record of providing premier customer service and we believe this operating change will be a boon to the local economy,” said Kenny Rocker, executive vice president – Marketing and Sales of Union Pacific. “Both parties have high expectations for growth under this exciting new deal.” https://lnkd.in/ggFmYPfZ

My job is to connect customers to rail. Sometimes the solution is a site that was previously operational and rail-served. Other times, it involves building your business in one of Union Pacific's large-scale development sites (we have nearly 30 such sites). Occasionally, the project is so extensive that it requires months of coordinating efforts between multiple agencies to find the ideal location with access to a port, abundant power, and most importantly, access to the Union Pacific network.   I'm proud to have played a role in connecting Hyundai Steel Corp to their first-ever U.S. steel mill in Louisiana!

Our Chief Safety Officer, Rod Doerr, was recently appointed to represent Union Pacific on the Operation Lifesaver, Inc., National Board of Directors as Co-Chairman. Rod is pictured with Buck Russel, Sr. Supervisor, Public Safety, who sits on the Operation Lifesaver National Advisory Committee. Together, they help guide public safety outreach in the communities across our 23-state network. Congratulations, Rod, and thank you, Buck, for promoting #RailSafety.
