As the government adopts cloud-based platforms, controlling costs becomes increasingly complex. Instead of a single, unified agreement, agencies may have separate contracts with cloud service providers (CSPs) for platform services and application developers/integrators for building and maintaining software. It’s difficult to coordinate cost control efforts.  Unissant’s Principal - Infrastructure Automation, Sreeram Kombam, offers valuable insights for federal agencies on incentivizing cloud cost management in their contracts. Key takeaways: ·        Transparency and collaboration. State clear expectations for transparency and cost control, including assessment mechanisms, within contracts. ·        Measuring and monitoring. Use advanced tools and incorporate cost management Service Level Agreements to help track real-time spending, identify wastage, and target optimization measures. ·        Celebrating success. Recognize contractors who effectively control costs by sharing value delivered in performance evaluations and CPARs. Pave the way for a cloud environment where spend is controlled and costs are aligned with agency goals. #CloudCostManagement #FederalCloud #Microservices #CloudFinOps

With fun in the sun top of mind this summer, our latest article sheds light on innovation in IT O&M with UVF in mind. What’s UVF? Not a new category of the sun’s rays. Users, Value, and Future. Key Takeaways: · Prioritize user experience – make systems as user-friendly as a beach read! · Measure value to agency mission to target innovations with the greatest impact. · Explore architectural use cases for long-term system sustainability. ️ #ITModernization #O&M #Innovation #DHS #SummerVibes
