Half of California parents with young children are having difficulties paying for basic needs, with more than 20% of parents citing child care costs as a hardship. Increasing access to affordable child care helps families stay out of debt, strengthen their economic futures, and ensures a strong start for kids.

Across the state, the middle class is shrinking and the child poverty rate has doubled as families struggle to keep up with skyrocketing costs of living. Expanding access to high-quality child care for kids 0-3 is the first step in protecting and expanding California’s middle class, keeping parents and caregivers in the workforce and alleviating the financial pressure on families. Access to child care lets families increase their financial stability, get out of debt, save long term and set their children up for educational and economic success.

Kaiser Permanente's internship program showcases the power of dedicated coordinators and robust support systems in shaping successful career paths for interns. Kaiser’s commitment aligns well with California's strategic push towards enhancing work-based learning programs, aiming to equip a future-ready workforce across the state, as evidenced by the release of almost $500 M in Golden State Pathway Program funding. A strong focus on community impact and professional growth is critical to the development of college- and workforce-ready students. 🌿 Week 3 of UNITE-LA’s L.A. Regional Cleantech Career Academy centered on "Renewable Energy & Hydrogen Fuels," where students learned about renewable energy and hydrogen fuel cells. 🔋 We had the Green Hydrogen Coalition (GHC), California State University, Los Angeles and ARCHES H2 join us to provide our students with a “Green Hydrogen 101” overview, highlighting how it is a catalyst for CA’s green economy and jobs. Through public education, coalition-building and market development, GHC is dedicated to advancing green hydrogen as a clean energy solution across multiple industries. When was the first time you learned about renewable energy? How much has changed? 🤔💡 #LACleantechCareerAcademy #ARCHESH2 #RenewableEnergy #HydrogenFuelCells #FutureLeaders #CleanTech #LAInnovation
