  • Today, we are pleased to announce the release of the Shreveport Guaranteed Income Program (SGIP) report. The SGIP, funded entirely by private donations (not of United Way) and the Caddo Parish Commission, provided $660 a month to 110 single-parent families for 12 months. United Way of Northwest Louisiana helped with the implementation and onboarding process of this program through its Shreveport Financial Empowerment Center. According to the report, the SGIP showcases higher levels of financial stability, greater food security, improved housing stability, increased time and space for parenting, and an increased sense of personal agency for Shreveport residents. • The results are in! 🎉 Williams Companies 3rd annual Golfin' & Gassin' Classic has raised $143,000 to support United Way of Northwest Louisiana, surpassing how much they raised last year by $36,000! 😱 The company rallied hundreds of its employees to participate in the tournament, where they enjoyed a work-free day of golf, comradery, and competing for a cause. Each participant paid to enter the fundraising event, and some spent additional dollars on entries for raffle prizes provided by Williams’ Golf Tournament sponsors. All proceeds raised from the initiative, including a generous company match, will help fund United Way programs and services. We are truly grateful for the generosity of Williams and its employees and thankful to have them as allies who make a difference in our community. Thank you, Williams Companies! ❤️

  • Thank you so much to KSLA News 12's Alexandria Savage for volunteering with us last Friday at the Caddo Heights Pre-K Parent Luncheon, where we enrolled students in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and read to them! 📚🌟 Approximately 45 pre-k students were enrolled to receive free books through the program to help them better prepare for kindergarten readiness. As the school receives more pre-k students, those children will be enrolled as well. ❤️
