  • As we continue to celebrate the first anniversary of our Comprehensive Cancer Center, we want to recognize our incredible clinical research department. Located on the third floor, our clinical research department truly embodies the UCBC spirit of always improving and moving forward. As one of the most prolific clinical trial facilities in Georgia, we know that we’re part of a global community of researchers, collectively working towards a common goal. We approach clinical trial opportunities as an extension of patient care, incorporating them whenever evidence suggests an individual’s treatment and recovery could benefit from engaging in one of our active clinical trials. • UCBC was proud to host Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer's recent Survivorship Breakfast. We had over 125 attendees who enjoyed a complimentary breakfast, expert panel discussions, and survivor goodie bags. Thank you to all who made this breakfast possible for our wonderful attendees. We'd like to extend a special thank you to our presenters, Kris Schultz-Tanner, FNP-C, ACGN, Dr. Ashley Ray, and Michelle Clark, LCSW!

  • The second floor of our Comprehensive Cancer Center houses our specially designed Theranostics treatment rooms. Theranostics is a personalized approach to treating cancer, using both diagnostics (imaging) and therapy tools as part of the treatment. During Theranostics treatments, cancer cells are targeted and destroyed with precision without damaging healthy cell tissue. These rooms are made of lead lined walls and doors to eliminate the risk of staff, patients, and patient family members being exposed to the radioactive material. Like the rest of our Comprehensive Cancer Center, our Theranostics rooms are designed with patient comfort in mind, offering an environment where patients can undergo treatment and relax. • As we celebrate the first anniversary of our Comprehensive Cancer Center, we're highlighting our healing garden. 🌸 🔔 The first floor of our Comprehensive Cancer Center is intentionally designed with calming areas for patients and their families to relax and unwind. Following treatment, patients can take a moment to rest or stroll through our healing garden. Our garden also includes a bell inspired by the UGA Chapel Bell in Athens. Patients can be heard ringing this bell to symbolize important milestones along their cancer journeys.
