How is the academic community approaching the integration of AI in education? “Mapping academic perspectives on AI in education: trends, challenges, and sentiments in educational research (2018–2024)” digs deep, analyzing abstracts from academic publications to identify key themes and trends. Using network analysis, topic modeling, and sentiment analysis, the research reveals pivotal themes like ethical considerations, the influence of global events on AI adoption, and real-world applications in educational policy and management. The findings aim to shape future research, inform policy discussions, and support evidence-based decisions in AI’s role in education. The Health Informatics Lecture Series presents “Machine Learning to Identify Patients Most Likely to Benefit from Pharmacogenetic Testing” on November 6th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST on Zoom. Dr. Julio D. Duarte’s research primarily focuses on: (1) the biological mechanisms underlying left heart failure progression, and (2) the clinical implementation of preemptive pharmacogenetic testing, particularly in medically underserved patient populations. His NIH-funded laboratory conducts translational research attempting to discover genomic predictors of drug response, as well as using genomics and transcriptomics to identify novel targets for future drug development. Had the amazing opportunity to see so many large scale implementations of XR for training last week at #AugmentedEnterpriseSummit in Dallas. While people may be thinking XR is dead or dying, I had the opportunity to learn of the increased performance and cost savings XR can generate from training and onboarding at Coca Cola to comforting and putting potential blood donors at ease from Abbott (health industry) to an entire digital twin ecosystem at ExxonMobil. It's a great time to be an XR designer, developer, and researcher! 🤩
