Upbring was honored to contribute to a powerful conversation during SXSW 2025 at SVC at SXSW's panel, From Possum Trot to the World: A Story of Radical Love & Global Impact. Our President & CEO, Michael Loo, joined inspiring leaders like Bishop W.C. Martin of Possum Trot, Bishop Aaron Blake of Orphan Care Ambassadors and Joseph Knittig of The Global Orphan Project to reflect on the challenges children face and explore sustainable solutions. The stories shared during the panel reinforced a core belief we hold at Upbring: Love, community and compassion are essential to creating lasting change for those we serve. We were also proud to sponsor SVC@SXSW's Partner Breakfast, where our Director of Product Evolution, Kyle Kerrigan, introduced VectorPoint™—Upbring's innovative, data-driven tool that measures and strengthens healing and resilience for children who've experienced trauma. This experience was incredibly special. The warmth, support and shared commitment to child wellbeing we encountered left us feeling inspired and energized as we continue our mission. Thank you to SVC@SXSW for providing a platform to share our work and connect with like-minded advocates, and to everyone who joined us for the conversation. #ChildWellbeing #SVCSXSW #SXSW2025 #VectorPoint

Stronger communities require strong advocates, and Upbring is proud to be one of them.✨ Last week, we joined fellow providers at TexProtects - Champions for Safe Children's Texas Prevention Network Day at the Capitol to amplify the voices of Texas children and families. In conversations with legislative offices, including Sen. Sarah Eckhardt and Rep. Gina Hinojosa, we emphasized the need to strengthen resources that support child wellbeing. We were also excited to see the Senate resolution presented by Sen. Tan Parker and the House resolution led by Rep. Christian Manuel, whose districts include Upbring programs. Texas families deserve strong voices fighting on their behalf. In collaboration with partners and policymakers, we're committed to strengthening the foundation that families rely on—building stronger communities where children are safe, families are supported and futures are brighter. Upbring supported Senate Bill 569 during last week's Senate Committee on Education K-16 hearing. We believe educational opportunities that meet the unique needs of children and young adults must be accessible to all. With Upbring programs like Trinity Charter Schools and Head Start serving communities across several legislative districts—including those represented by Sen. Donna Campbell, Sen. Phil King, Senator Adam Hinojosa, Sen. Mayes Middleton, Sen. José Menéndez and Sen. Royce West—we know the local impact this bill will have. This legislation ensures children in foster care who experience educational disruptions in their education due to frequent placements or youth who age out of care still have access to high-quality, flexible online learning options, workforce training and essential academic resources. It would allow schools like Trinity Charter Schools (TCS) to expand access for at-risk youth and underserved communities by removing arbitrary barriers and enrollment caps. Many of the children and youth who would benefit the most from this legislation—like youth in foster care—have already endured instability, hardship and systemic failures. We cannot allow a lack of education to be yet another obstacle in their path. Upbring is committed to advocating for policies that remove barriers and create opportunities for the youth we serve. As SB 569 moves forward, we will continue to monitor its progress and advocate for its passage. This legislation has the potential to change lives, and we will not stop pushing for solutions that ensure every young person has the chance to build a strong future. Watch this clip from the hearing, where Sen. Paul Bettencourt mentions Trinity Charter Schools and shares how this bill makes a life-changing difference for our youth: https://bit.ly/4bGXqbv Swipe below to learn about Upbring's legislative priorities for the session and discover more about SB 569. ⬇️ #ChildWellbeing #SB569 #txlege

Thank you, Austin! 🙌✨ Our first-returning Austin "Make A Difference" Gala since 2020 was an unforgettable celebration of community and advocacy for child wellbeing. With the support of several generous corporate donors, 15 dedicated committee members, and our Upbring Warriors—we sold out all 30 tables and welcomed 288 guests. Because of this amazing community, we raised over $193,000 in support of Austin-area children and young adults in our Foster In Texas (FIT), New Life Children's Center, and BeREAL Supervised Independent Living (SIL) programs. These funds provide stability, healing and opportunity to children in foster care, teen girls overcoming trauma and young adults transitioning out of foster care into independence. This work is far from over, but because of you, those we serve are one step closer to a future where they can thrive. We are so grateful for this outpouring of support and can’t wait to do it again next year! #MakeADifferenceGala #ATX
