About us

Upbring is committed to breaking the generational cycle of child abuse by addressing its root causes. We deliver a continuum of services that produces measurable progress in five key markers: safety, life skills, education, health and vocation. Upbring constantly evolves to meet the needs of the children we serve. In the midst of those changes, however, our faith-based roots remain as strong as the day we opened our doors more than 135 years ago. Upbring’s children’s services offer a safe place to grow and thrive physically, emotionally and spiritually. Upbring continues to develop innovative and life changing programs and services for children and families in our communities. We don’t plan to stop - will you continue to join our team?

🚀 Upbring is proud to introduce VectorPoint™, a groundbreaking, data-driven program designed to transform child welfare by focusing on what matters most—the wellbeing of each child. Developed over eight years, VectorPoint™ provides caregivers with tailored recommendations to support the healing of children who've experienced trauma by tracking their progress and wellbeing while in care. Having already shown success in our Foster In Texas program, Upbring is preparing to expand VectorPoint™ into more of its own programs and offer licensing opportunities to other organizations, enabling broader use of this innovative approach.    Experts like Krystale Bezio, MSW, LCPAA, Upbring Chief Operating Officer, Michael Loo, Upbring President & CEO and Erin Espinosa, PhD, Director of Research at Evident Change and nationally recognized leader in systems reform, emphasize the program's potential to enhance child services.    ✨Watch the video below and read the press release at https://lnkd.in/g4UkKU9j to learn more about VectorPoint™ 🔐 Visit https://lnkd.in/gd55xybq for early access details   #VectorPoint #ChildWellbeing

Championing a “whole child, whole family” approach to community impact – Organizational Development | Team Building & Leadership | Government Relations | Communities of Support

Mental health is a critical issue that affects the well-being of students across Texas and addressing it in our schools is more important than ever. As adults, we often project our own school memories onto the needs of today's classrooms, but as we have all experienced, times have changed, and so have the challenges and resources required to support our students effectively. A great article from Texas 2036 noted, “60% of youth who receive mental health care begin receiving services through school.”  This alarming statistic underscores the challenges educators and administrators face in ensuring students receive adequate mental health support. With nearly 5 million Texas students enrolled in public schools, the demand for mental health resources far outpaces the availability of professionals trained to provide these services. Schools are often the first line of defense, but the shortage of mental health professionals and the stigma associated with mental illness create barriers that are difficult to overcome. Addressing these gaps requires intentional, well-funded initiatives that equip schools with the tools they need to support students holistically. By prioritizing mental health, we can protect the next generation of children, recognizing that it’s not a quick fix but an ongoing process of addressing trauma and teaching essential coping skills to help them thrive both in and out of the classroom. #MentalHealthMatters #TexasEducation #txlege

When children in foster care are placed with relatives or close family friends, the impact can be profound. Familiar surroundings offer them emotional stability, forming a stronger foundation for their future success.    Kinship care ensures a child remains connected to their community and cultural roots, enhancing their overall sense of belonging and wellbeing.    Caregivers—whether kinship or otherwise—play an essential role in nurturing and supporting children. But sustaining that care requires looking after your own wellbeing too. This #NationalKinshipCareMonth, we celebrate your dedication to child wellbeing and offer resources to help you prioritize your self-care: https://bit.ly/4gFDtUT   #ChildWellbeing #KinshipCareMonth #KinshipCare
