Upland is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The municipality is located at an elevation of 1,242 feet (379 m). As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 79,040, up from 73,732 at the 2010 census. It was incorporated on May 15, 1906, after previously being named North Ontario. Upland is located at the foot of the highest part of the San Gabriel Mountains. The Los Angeles suburb is part of the Inland Empire, a metropolitan area situated directly east of the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Last night, our City Council recognized our IT Manager Richard Jeganathan for working through the entire weekend of the global CrowdStrike outage that affected IT systems worldwide. Richard worked relentlessly to make sure our Police Department was able to maintain communications through the outage. After prioritizing the security and resiliency of our Police Department, Richard worked on divisions that are open weekends such as the Library and Animal Services. With his IT Technician Tony Tang, he then worked through Sunday to make sure the rest of the City was up and running before staff returned to office on Monday morning. For most residents, it was almost as though nothing had happened, and this is all thanks to the exemplary level of service our IT Team provides to our organization and our community. 🌟
