Last week, our in-house CMA Leaders had an amazing day—blood pressure day! Every training group gets hands-on practice with the incredible Dr. Porter, Dr. Wells, and Katherine Carver who come in to teach them how to take blood pressure like pros. 🩺 They spent the day practicing on the doctors, each other, and even some UpRise staff! With this hands-on experience, they’re gearing up to pass their certification exams and launch their healthcare careers in just a few short weeks! 💪

"I can't believe it's been 90 days already!" 🥳 Bria excitedly told her career coach last week, celebrating 🎉 THREE MONTHS on the job as a Clinical Medical Assistant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center! Before joining UpRise last 🍁Fall, Bria was working at an Amazon Fulfillment Center. With 💪determination and 😃 a big smile, she aced her certification exam on the first try and landed a dream job at one of 🏥 Vanderbilt's local neighborhood clinics where she 💖 loves the patients. Every day, she’s thrilled to serve the people of Nashville, and it’s no wonder the first three months have flown by in a flash! ⚡️✨

The first ✨ Leaders from our Summer 2024 class have officially started their new jobs over the past two ✌️ weeks—just look at their smiles on their first days! 😄 They're transitioning from 👕 retail and 🍟 fast food into careers in 🏥 healthcare at Ascension St. Thomas, taking meaningful steps for themselves and their families. These are moms❤️ striving to provide more for their children and young adults 💼 embarking on lifelong careers. Celebrating One Month on the Job for Courtney! With a background in retail and a steady and calm presence, Courtney joined UpRise after a friend recommended it to her, motivated to become financially independent and knowing she was capable of more. Thanks to the support of another UpRise Leader, she started her journey last month at Cumberland Heights as a Recovery Assistant after earning her Microsoft Office Certificate through UpRise! Roger, affectionately known as ‘Ro’ at UpRise, is a dedicated father to three children, who inspired his pursuit of coming to UpRise and earning his Commercial Driver’s License. Despite the demands of working and caring for his family, Ro NEVER MISSED A DAY in Spring 2024 Training Camp. As the first Leader to complete all the extra steps to qualify for trucking school, he exemplified quiet confidence and compassionate leadership. After months of hard work and studying, Ro recently successfully passed his CDL exam and is now working with his career coach to find his first career job in the trucking industry! "I've held onto my 'why' every day at UpRise: my family, including my 11-year-old daughter and husband, and my own future.” Tongela is putting her chili factory days behind her as she excelled in her Clinical Medical Assistant Certification studies at UpRise. Ask Tongela about all that she learned in her studies, and her top would include: Patient Therapies, Pharmacology and Surgical Procedures. Through UpRise’s in-house Clinical Medical Assistant class she passed her certification exam… on her very first attempt. The thing about Tongela is that she just leaves you inspired... a long conversation or a short moment, you always walk away better for having spent time with her.
