We are honored to be included in The Washington Post 5 feel-good books to provide a reprieve from election stress. Now more than ever, we need GOOD PEOPLE! "Heartwarming true tales showcase that kindness can counterbalance a scary world, and this book, compiled by editors of Upworthy, is the perfect antidote to doomscrolling. In this modern-day “Chicken Soup for the Soul,” chapters titled “The Kindest of Strangers” or “When I Needed It Most” are best read in feel-good bites — pick-me-ups to help appreciate our shared humanity." - Becky Meloan Read more at https://lnkd.in/e5cPwjZn

“It’s an act of love that saves me, just a little bit, every single day.” We were delighted to talk to Lisa Mullins on NPR and WBUR's Here & Now about the power of small acts of kindness and how they inspired us to create our book GOOD PEOPLE: Stories from the Best of Humanity. We hone in on two of the over 100 stories from the book: "The Best Guy I Know" and "The Front Porch." Listen below to hear more about how they come together to form, as Gabriel Reilich says, a “testament to human goodness,” and how taking in positive stories can actually shift your perspective on the world. https://lnkd.in/e5v8xVvd

Last week, we had the honor to speak on FOX 11 about our new book, GOOD PEOPLE: Stories of the Best of Humanity. We were especially excited to feature three of the 100 story contributors from our inspiring Upworthy audience. Without their graciousness in sharing their stories, this book would not have been possible. Check out the segment below, starting at 7:45. https://lnkd.in/es_4djR3

We are so proud to announce that our first book GOOD PEOPLE: Stories From the Best of Humanity is officially out in the world. This has been a deeply gratifying labor of love (over 3 years in the making!) that wouldn’t have been possible without the 100 members of our community who opened up their hearts to us. We are honored to be able to share their stories. Last night we celebrated the launch in Los Angeles with our creators Lucia Knell and Gabriel Reilich in conversation with the esteemed Allison Lee, Managing Director at PEN America, along with an introduction from our very special guest Jennifer Garner. We were elated to host our contributor and friend, Lynne Cook, who shared her story about the person who profoundly changed her life. Our hope is that this book will act as a resource for comfort, joy and reminder that people, more often than not, are inherently good -- we think it's coming at just the right time. Order your copy online or from your local independent bookstore today! https://lnkd.in/gx4Vej5Q
