AI has been making waves everywhere, including in the medical field. That's why the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) recently put together a list of six principles for using AI in oncology care. These principles are designed to help balance the risks and rewards when it comes to AI. Debra Patt, MD PhD MBA, Chair of ASCO's AI Task Force, says that “we want patients to benefit from this tremendous innovation, and it’s a very exciting time." However, she continues, "we have to be cognizant and responsible about the fact that these tools might have bias and errors.
