New York City’s 520 miles of coastline present a unique challenge during the United Nations General Assembly. Ensuring the safety of the waterways is critical. Our relocation and decontamination teams, in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard work 24/7 to secure the rivers surrounding the U.N. complex. With agents on the water and constant coordination with NYPD Harbor units and FDNY, we ensure safe passage for all protectees, including the President’s arrival.

Cybercrime is one of the most disruptive forms of crime. It threatens not only consumers’ wallets, but also the security of information. To tackle this, law enforcement agencies from various countries have joined forces. Yesterday, we welcomed the internationally renowned High-Tech Crime Unit of the Netherlands National Police to talk about the biggest international operation to date against botnets spreading malware: Operation Endgame. We also discussed the complexity of cybercrime and the unit’s approach for both enforcement and prevention. Thank you European Union Delegation to the United States, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Secret Service, and international law enforcement liaisons for joining us.
