As the weather cools and kids settle back into school, the USA Basketball Foundation’s Torch Leadership in Sport Mentorship Program is heating up! In just three years, applications for the Torch program have soared from 59 to over 150. The competition was fierce this year, and we’re thrilled to announce the 2024-25 cohort of Torch mentees: Link: https://lnkd.in/gTpfGeD2. Throughout the program, members of the USA Basketball executive team will mentor these rising young leaders as they take their first steps in the sports industry. For students like Terrill Smith, it’s an opportunity to turn their passion into a profession. “I’m beyond excited to be part of the third USA Basketball Torch Program cohort, where I’ll be mentored by some of the top executives in the game. This is such an incredible opportunity, not just to gain insight, but to have a real helping hand as I carve out my path as a creative in the sports world,” shared Smith. We’re able to bring impactful programs like Torch to life thanks to the generous support of the USA Basketball Foundation community. Thank you for being part of this journey! The 2024-25 Torch cohort includes: • Lee Allen, Prairie View A&M University (senior) • Uche Chukwuezi, Fayetteville State University (graduate student) • Anthony George, Morehouse College (senior) • MiMi Harris, Albany State University (junior) • Tavious Mattox, Grambling State University (senior) • Kennedy Richardson, Florida A&M University (junior) • Brindice Rodriguez, Virginia State University (senior) • Terrill Smith, Florida A&M University (junior) • Tressa Willingham, Tennessee State University (senior)
