  • Congratulations to the 26 Youth Graduates of the SmartPhilm Training! USAID Healthy Behaviors Activity, in collaboration with the Tigray Health Bureau and Mekelle University, successfully conducted a SmartPhilm training from August 5 to 21, 2024, at Mekelle University Ayder Campus. Throughout the program, 26 talented youth received comprehensive training in pre-production, production, and post-production, all focused on creating impactful health-themed videos. These up-and-coming content creators developed powerful videos ranging from 2 to 10 minutes, raising awareness on key health issues. To celebrate their achievement, an awards ceremony was held on September 23, 2024, recognizing three exceptional participants for their outstanding video projects. Congrats to our top winners!   • Happening Now! Building Evidence-Driven Action Plans for Human and Animal Health in South Ethiopia. The USAID Healthy Behaviors Activity, in partnership with FHI 360, is currently conducting a 5-day training (Sept 16-20, 2024) in Kucha Woreda, Gamo Zone. The training aimed at developing evidence-based, tailored, and joint action plans at the kebele level, fostering collaboration between the animal and human health sectors. IMPACTFul approach (Implementing Mapping, Participatory Action, Co-Investment and Tailored) is being implemented to improve the process optimization, scalability, and sustainability on the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) and to strengthen Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE). This training is expected to strengthen disease prevention and control efforts, especially for zoonotic diseases, through a coordinated SBC/RCCE strategy 35 participants, half of them women, from sectors like One Health coordinators, animal health workers, and health extension workers are working together to develop evidence-based, collaborative action plans to tackle zoonotic diseases. Key outcomes so far: ✅ Strengthened links between evidence and health strategies ✅ Enhanced collaboration across animal & human health sectors ✅ Improved intervention planning & process optimization ✅ Clearer roles and better visibility for SBC/RCCE activities This training is key to boosting disease prevention and control at the local level! 💪🌍 #USAID #HealthyBehaviors #SBC #RCCE #OneHealth #ZoonoticDiseases #Ethiopia #GHSA
