About us
As an independent research center serving admissions and enrollment specialists, the USC Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice (CERPP) is committed to fostering equity and expertise in college access, admission, and outcomes. Established in 2007 at the University of Southern California, CERPP became a part of the USC Rossier School of Education in 2010. Rooted in the belief that the educational attainment goals of the nation will be more fully realized as college admission, student financial aid, and degree completion processes become better informed, more expertly practiced, and more equitable, CERPP has accomplished the following: -Certified over 100 leaders in enrollment management over the past five years with its Leadership in Enrollment Management certificate program. -Deployed 48 college graduates as near-peer advisers in 41 high need Los Angeles area schools as our USC College Advising Corps (2018-19). Last year, advisers met individually with over 9,000 students, resulting in over 14,000 college acceptances. -Conducted research into non-academic factors in college admissions, test-optional enrollment policies, and institutional efforts to promote better retention and college completion efforts to help guide national policy and practice. -Convene our annual CERPP conference, a highly respected and thought-provoking event on college enrollment for the nation’s leading policymakers, practitioners, and scholars.

🌟 Welcome Sloane Starke to the Leadership in Enrollment Management Certificate Program Cohort! 🌟 We are excited to welcome Sloane to our 2024-25 cohort! Sloane is the Director of Admission at The American School Foundation, A.C. in Mexico City, a K-12 American international school with more than 2,500 local and international students. She joined admission work in 2021 after 14 years at ASF, having worked in the Institutional Advancement and Communications Offices and later as a faculty member in the Upper School English department. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Sloane holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in international politics and two master’s degrees from the University of Missouri (journalism) and SUNY Buffalo (interdisciplinary studies). Before joining ASF in 2007, she worked as a newscast producer in Missouri, Indiana, and Oregon, bringing a strong background in journalism and communications to her work in education. When asked what inspired her to pursue the certificate in Enrollment Management, Sloane shared: "I applied for the CERPP certificate because, after a few years in admission, I am ready to move to a more holistic enrollment management approach. I have received some excellent PD in the past, especially through EMA. But, I feel this longer-term program will help me learn, make concrete plans, and implement them at my school. (I also just love school and learning, which is probably why I love working at a school!) In addition, I look forward to building relationships with a small group of independent school and higher ed colleagues on a deeper level." Sloane is eager to apply the knowledge and skills gained from the program to enhance her work at ASF: "I am proud of the work my team and I do in selecting and guiding students and families into the school. Still, we can do so much more in terms of marketing, recruitment, onboarding, follow-up, culture work, engagement with families, and long-term strategy, all in the interest of our school and its mission." We look forward to seeing how Sloane will leverage her insights and experiences to further strengthen her school’s enrollment processes and community engagement. Welcome to the cohort, Sloane! 🎉
