Jetpack has a new look under construction. We are striving to explore retro-futurism and resiliency. Two pillars of our brand. We are inspired by the resiliency and flexibility of our customers who innovated their business model to evolve in the turn of the century despite the excitement and consumer shift towards OTAs. Now that changes to distribution (NDC) and hospitality (AI) are coming and forcing all travel agencies (online and traditional) to rethink their business models and consider the future, Jetpack is going to bet on the resilient folks who have developed a differentiated service beyond just being an interface to book a trip. As we look to build a brand that can remain fresh and apply both to current customers' sensibilities and guide our company in the direction of new opportunity, we are finding inspiration in the exciting, 'anything is possible,' vibe of post-war promises of a better future. 🏗️ Jetpack's rebrand and growth also is focusing on new features ✈️ To power these, we are hiring on contract one software engineer to help build out our payments feature with our team. A major struggle our company faces when looking at expanding our software sales to DMCs (Destination Management Companies) who also want to benefit from the amazing design and user experience afforded by a mobile office solution is that we lack the ability to provide them with a robust frontend to collect and track payments for trips they design in Jetpack. Engineers would be expected to be at least tangentially familiar with both React Native and React, with brownie points for those familiar with Expo and NextJS. Our database is Postgres and we do have an interface layer to our database built with PowerSync, which means you may need to have cursory understanding of SQL / SQL Lite. In travel, AI is met with a mix of FOMO and frustration. With every company trying to charge an arm and a leg for half baked, uninspired chat features, this isn't surprising. Jetpack is taking a strong stance by not charging advisors for AI features that save them time ✈️ 🤖 We think this decision forces us to be intelligent about developing features that go beyond buzzwords and the free price is now possible with the remarkable developments of the #opensource model LLaMA 3. Ultimately, our clients' jobs are to give remarkable experiences to clients. Matthew Wade surprised me with a gift in my inbox this morning. A date picker you can speak with 🗣️ ✈️ Not AI, this is a small NLP package that works offline on mobile and web. Most would hit an expensive AI endpoint for this feature, locking the tool into an experience that must be online. Jetpack is available offline and online on mobile and web, so we gotta be smart ⚡️🧠 Our mission is for travel advisors to live the lifestyle they sell their clients which means at times, internet connection is spotty!
