Earlier this week I have had the opportunity to attend the Riskworld Conference 2024 in San Diego, CA with fellow students from the The Baldwin Group School of Risk Management and Insurance, University of South Florida! This trip was an amazing experience and opportunity and would not have been possible without the Spencer Educational Foundation. Thank you so much to them as well as FM Global for your continued support and making this trip possible! Additionally, thank you so much to Stephanie Horne, ARM for taking the time to guide us through this conference, and setting up so many impactful meetings and opportunities for us! You are such a light and I’m so grateful to have gained such valuable insight from all of these opportunities! Thank you as well to Ken Goldstein for your constant support and also assisting us in setting up some really impactful and insightful meetings! Thank you to Dennis Baltz for taking the time out of your busy schedule to meet with us! This conversation was so welcoming and insightful with you and several of your colleagues, and I enjoyed getting to meet and talk to everyone! Thank you to Julie Gibson for meeting with us as well! It was the perfect start to the day and I loved learning more about your story, Lockton’s story, and how marketing and branding intersects with so many areas of business and gaining a new perspective! Thank you to Kristin Hausler Carrington of SnapRISK for having us! It was such a joy to meet you and thank you for being so welcoming and such an inspiration! Thank you so much to Joseph Cellura for hosting us for lunch! It was lovely to meet you and continue to learn more about the industry from our conversation, thank you for being so welcoming! Thank you to Read Davis for hosting us at the event at the boardwalk! It was such a fun event and everyone was so welcoming! Thank you for being so welcoming upon meeting and your support for incoming talent truly shines! Thank you to Mary Fox as well, our conversation was so impactful and your passion for helping students truly shines! The work you are doing is so important and this trip would not have been possible without your support! Last but certainly not least, thank you to Kristi Hoskinson, SHRM-SCP for being the best mentor and advisor one could ask for. Your passion for your work truly shines and I could not have asked for a better light to guide us through this amazing experience! All in all, everyone within the Risk Management and Insurance industry has been so welcoming. Their passion for helping and mentoring new talent entering the field truly shows, and this experience just solidified my passion and dedication to this amazing industry! I’m looking forward to all that’s to come!

Riskworld was an experience so incredible I could write a small book on it. Countless conversations, meetings, events that opened my mind to an unbelievable breadth of information. First and foremost, an incredibly special thanks to FM Global for providing the donation and Spencer Educational Foundation for making this trip possible in the first place. Words cannot express my gratitude. Ken Goldstein played a vital part in setting up much of our activities, like our terrific meeting with Joseph Cellura from Allied World. We also had the delight of meeting with Julie Gibson of Lockton over some coffee, having a phenomenal discussion on the importance of a company's marketing. My favorite memory was the chance to attend the WTW reception, where I had the opportunity to meet with countless inspiring professionals like Dennis Baltz, who we talked with the following morning. My eternal thanks goes out to the lovely Stephanie Horne, ARM who accompanied and invited us along with her for several events. And of course a very special shoutout to Kristi Hoskinson, SHRM-SCP, our advisor for the trip, as well as the other The Baldwin Group School of Risk Management and Insurance, University of South Florida students that attended along with me. All of you made the experience such a treat and I'm happy I could attend with such a fun group. There are so many more people I met, talked, and connected with to mention. My experience in San Diego was truly the highlight of my year thus far. The generosity of those the industry is unbeaten. I feel no matter how much gratitude I express I will still be ungrateful. I can only hope one day I have the opportunity to pay it back the same way to a new generation.

It was such a fun event and I enjoyed experiencing the energy of everyone in the industry. Reflecting on this past week, I was able to have an amazing experience at RiskWorld 2024 in San Diego. Meeting all these exceptional people has changed my view of the industry forever.
