Purposeful transformation through strategy, design, and implementation

It means a lot to me to collaborate on the upcoming Innovation Bootcamp with the medical center that helped my wife and I (mostly my wife, of course) bring all four of our kids into this world. Grateful to UT Medical Center for its invaluable service to East Tennessee, Southeastern Kentucky, and Western North Carolina.

The DAISY Foundation was founded by the family of J. Patrick Barnes to recognize nurses and the extraordinary care that they experienced as a family. They wanted to say “thank you” to nurses everywhere by establishing a recognition program, and today, The DAISY Award is given to honor the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day. We are thrilled to share that Carla Franklin, RN, Progressive Care Unit is the latest DAISY Award Honoree for UT Medical Center! Here is part of the story about the care she provided to a patient which led to this honor: "Carla is the definition of the type of nurse you would want taking care of you or a loved one on even your worst of days. She is compassionate, encouraging, hardworking and most importantly the strongest advocate for her patients. She recently switched from dayshift to take on the next few months helping out as a team leader position on nightshift. She did this without prompt due to staffing complications & her truest desire to help others. There is never a time where a call light goes off or a team member calls out for help that Carla is not immediately jumping into action." Thank you, Carla for your leadership and compassion to our patients! Please help us congratulate her on this outstanding honor. https://bit.ly/4dTFGcN #DAISYAward #nurses #DAISYfoundation #UTMCfamily #nursing
