Mary De La Mare-Schaefer, regional general manager at Utah Transit Authority, is ready to answer all your questions! In this photo, she is wearing a dress she crafted out of t-shirts that were worn by UTA volunteers on opening day for the Utah Valley Express. “There is a wonderful team here — and our secret sauce is that we like each other, and we support each other,” Mary says. “The people that work here are delightful and they want things to be better, and who doesn’t want to work in that environment?” Read more about Mary in our current issue here: utahvalleymag.com

Brandon Fugal Unveils Thrilling Future for the Former Evermore Park with New Ownership and Exciting Community Quest Salt Lake City, UT – August 5, 2024 – Brandon Fugal, well-known real estate mogul and business visionary, has officially announced the private sale of the land formerly known as Evermore Park. The defunct park, now transitioning to an enigmatic new phase, will undergo extensive renovations before revealing its revamped purpose. Despite the sale, Mr. Fugal remains a staunch supporter of the venue’s evolution and the innovative vision of its new owners. “I am thrilled to see the venue transition into its next chapter, now in progress,” said Brandon Fugal. “The new owners have an extraordinary vision that promises to transform the venue into something spectacular, and I am delighted to champion their journey. This evolution will undoubtedly bring significant economic impact and international media attention to Utah.” In an electrifying twist, the new owners are launching an engaging community initiative called "Hatch the Egg." This interactive tournament invites the residents of the Salt Lake City metropolitan areas to embark on a thrilling quest, solving clues about the new owners and the future plans for the property over the next few months. Comparable to the excitement of Pokémon Go, participants will have the opportunity to win cash prizes by cracking the clues and unveiling the venue’s new direction. “The new owners wanted to create an exciting and immersive way for the community to connect with the venue's transformation,” added Mr. Fugal. “Hatch the Egg is designed to be a fun and rewarding experience, igniting curiosity and anticipation for the incredible future that lies ahead.” The renovation period will be a time of significant metamorphosis, aimed at enhancing the property and preparing it for its grand new role in our community. Clues for "Hatch the Egg" will be disseminated through various channels, including social media, local events, and community gatherings, ensuring everyone has the chance to participate in this exhilarating adventure. On November 21, 2024, one winner will be revealed and win the $20,000 grand prize, along with other winners of cash prizes. Details regarding the new owners, the venue's refreshed purpose, and the grand reopening will be gradually revealed through the "Hatch the Egg" campaign while renovations are underway. The community is encouraged to dive into "Hatch the Egg", play the tournament, and stay tuned for more thrilling updates. www.HatchTheEgg.com

Dvorah Governale is a storyteller in every facet of her life. From film to stage, the story is the priority when Dvorah is behind the scenes. The old “Sticky Shoe” theater on Main Street in American Fork has had many names. The newest one is Maven Cinemas. Dvorah and her husband Joe are the masterminds behind the rebrand! Dvorah Governale and her husband, Joe, love movies almost as much as they love one another. The film-fanatic couple had been dreaming about opening their own movie theater for years. Currently, the theater is on an extended intermission, so there is no better time to remember all of the fun had in this historical building on American Fork Main Street. If you have a happy memory at this theater, share it below!
