Nestled in the dynamic Dallas-Fort Worth region, the Department of Public Affairs and Planning (PAPL) at The University of Texas at Arlington is a dynamic and dedicated academic department committed to shaping leaders and professionals in planning and public affairs to address societal challenges. We are home to two distinct but interconnected programs: Planning and Public Affairs. Our Planning program offers the only professionally accredited Master's in City and Regional Planning in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex (PAB). This accreditation speaks to the high quality and relevance of our planning education. We focus on nurturing life-long professional planners who can effectively address real-world planning problems. We also have a Ph.D. program in Urban Planning and Public Policy that empowers students to conduct groundbreaking research. Our Public Affairs program sets itself apart through its commitment to community improvement and fully accredited Public Administration programs by NASPAA. The mission is to create a stimulating, inclusive environment that encourages intellectual curiosity to enhance public affairs practice. We prepare students to be leaders in building sustainable, healthy, and engaged communities. Our degree offerings include a Master of Public Administration, Master of Public Policy, and two PhDs, allowing students to tailor their education to their career goals.
