UVA Health — Northern Virginia and Culpeper

Earlier this week, I got to sit down and talk with UVA Health — Northern Virginia and Culpeper chief nursing officer Michelle Strider over tea as part of its first-ever three-day nursing fair. We shared a bit about our own stories, and chatted about the nearly endless opportunities available in nursing and nursing education at UVA Health. It was great fun to hit the road and meet a few of the incredible clinicians who make our health system the energized, compassionate place it is: a place that invests in its people and assures that they’ll grow. I also shared that, as my mother’s daughter, I LOVE the satisfaction of a good polish. I was extra proud to bring School’s silver tea set - used in weekly McKim Hall services with nursing students and house mothers from about 1920 through the 1960s – as a “show and tell.” Thank you, Michelle and my new community health friends for letting me visit . . . 🥰 There is a LOT to love about working and learning at University of Virginia!
