It’s been a week, and we’re still in awe… Big Big Table took 1st place at Pitch 10 2024! A huge thank you to United Way of Buffalo & Erie County NGU for organizing such an inspiring event, and to the Pitch 10 sponsors who made it all possible. A special shoutout to Chef Darian Bryan for providing delicious food for everyone in attendance. And… most importantly, THANK YOU to all of our fellow pitchers!! It was an honor to share the stage with these 9 incredible organizations who put their hearts and souls into both their pitches and their work—we are truly inspired by the work you're doing for the City of Good Neighbors. Congratulations to our fellow finalists who helped to make Pitch 10 an incredible showcase of community-driven impact: 🥈 2nd Place: Hope Totes Buffalo, awarded $15,000 for their amazing work providing comfort and support to families facing medical crises. 🥉 3rd Place: PATH Inc. (People Against Trafficking Humans), awarded $6,000 for their tireless efforts to end human trafficking and support survivors. We are profoundly grateful to the entire Pitch 10 community for believing in our mission of providing our neighbors with nutritious, accessible, and delicious lunches through our participatory model. This $25,000 award will allow us to begin taking a more holistic approach to serving our community, addressing needs beyond the meal, while continuing to foster a safe and inclusive space for all. To all the participating organizations, we see and celebrate the incredible work you're doing and the difference you're making! It was an honor to present alongside each of you and to learn more about your impactful contributions to our beloved city. Please check these organizations out and learn more about their amazing work for yourself! BOLDER Inc.: Empowering diverse, women, and veteran founders with wellness and business support. Be Your Own Hero, Inc. : Preparing students for meaningful career pathways beyond high school. Fostering Greatness Inc.: Supporting foster care youth, alumni, and young adults with personal and professional development. For Grieving Daughters: Creating spaces for women and girls who have lost a maternal figure to heal and grow. Good Neighbor Fund: Providing micro-grants and mentorship to underrepresented founders. IF Kids: Teaching kids about sustainable agriculture through STEM. Seneca Street Community Development Corp.: Partnering with the Seneca Babcock community to overcome educational and social barriers. From the bottom of our hearts… thank you. We cannot express our gratitude enough. At Big Big Table, we are all about community and support, and we truly felt that love throughout our involvement in Pitch 10. So, stop in for lunch sometime! You’ve always got a seat at our table💛 #BigBigTable #Pitch10 #CommunityImpact #FoodInsecurity #BuffaloNY #SocialImpact #HungerRelief #CommunitySupport #Nonprofit #OneWorldEverybodyEats #FoodisaHumanRight

Our President & CEO Trina Burruss welcomed Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere Inc. (ROSE) to Buffalo for an impactful Community Transformers training. A national leader in addressing breastfeeding disparities for communities of color, ROSE builds equity in maternal and child health through culturally competent training, education, advocacy, and support. The ROSE team led 20 local participants in this two-day training, funded by the Breastfeeding, Chestfeeding, and Lactation Friendly New York grant through the NYS Department of Health, and in partnership with the D'Youville University Health Careers Opportunity Program HRSA grant. We are honored to be a part of an initiative to reduce breastfeeding disparities in our communities and we thank our participants for their time, enthusiasm, and commitment.
