I am proud to announce that –Derek Jones– will be the next Chief Executive Officer of Valens Global. His first day as the company's new CEO will be May 10. Derek has been with the company for almost five years, serving as a Vice President before being promoted to Chief Strategy Officer. Prior to his time at Valens, Derek had a distinguished 26-year career in the U.S. Army. He was a Green Beret, retired as a full-bird Colonel, and earned four master's degrees along the way, including from the School of Advanced Military Studies and the Army War College. This is what I had to say about Derek in the speech announcing the transition in roles to the Valens team: "Derek joined Valens in 2019, and has advanced our journey in so many ways. He currently heads our biggest government contract, the Irregular Warfare Center.   Derek is a proven leader. A proven leader in the military. A proven leader here.   His ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives is the best in the world. I know that Derek will lead us with integrity, innovation, and a deep commitment to our shared goals."   In addition, Derek has produced truly trailblazing scholarship on counter-network operations. His Joint Special Operations University monograph on the form, function, and logic of clandestine cellular networks is one of the works that I referred to most frequently during the course of my career as an analyst: https://lnkd.in/eBh6_uE8   Valens Global will be in great hands under Derek.
