The Valley Hospital recently opened the Earl A. Wheaton, Jr., MD Family Care Center in Ridgewood, named in honor of Dr. Earl Wheaton, Jr., a former Valley physician. Previously known as Valley’s Community Care Clinic, the center is located at Valley Health System – Ridgewood Campus and will also serve as the outpatient office for Valley’s new Graduate Medical Education program. Dr. Wheaton, an internist and rheumatologist, started at Valley in 1960 and held various leadership roles, including Medical Staff President, until his retirement in 2002. He was recognized for his compassionate care and received The Valley Hospital Distinguished Physician Service Award in 1998.
