On this Indigenous Peoples' Day, we not only honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples but also celebrate the individuals who carry these traditions forward. On this World Mental Health Day, we recognize the pain of losing a loved one to suicide. Dr. Carol Olson, Chairman of Psychiatry at Valleywise Health, reminds us that support is crucial during this difficult time. Here are some ways to navigate grief and healing: Allow yourself to grieve: Embrace your emotions and give yourself time. Seek support: Connect with friends, family, or groups like EMPACT’s Survivors of Suicide. Honor their memory: Celebrate their life with meaningful rituals. Don’t blame yourself: Suicide is complex, and it's beyond your control. Prioritize self-care: Focus on activities that bring you peace. You don’t have to go through this alone. Dr. Olson and the team at Valleywise Health are here to help you find the support you need. Reach out for help when you need it. #MentalHealthMatters #ValleywiseHealth

Valleywise Health Medical Center has received Engineering News-Record Southwest's Award of Merit for healthcare projects. This annual award is part of ENR's Regional Best Projects Awards program, which honors the best construction projects and the companies that designed and built them. Projects are selected for their achievements in innovation, teamwork, service to the community, safety and design, and construction quality. Designed to deliver exceptional care rooted in safety and compassion, Valleywise Health Medical Center is a new, 233-bed, 10-story, 687,000-square-foot facility providing exceptional, tailored care for the diverse needs of Maricopa County’s 4.5 million residents.
