Verne is excited to announce our partnership with Cryostar to develop “future-proofed” heavy-duty hydrogen stations! Cryostar, a leading developer of cryogenic pumps, and Verne will develop and demonstrate technology capable of dispensing both compressed hydrogen and cryo-compressed hydrogen. This allows fueling stations to support compressed hydrogen fueling today and to accommodate a transition to cryo-compressed hydrogen in the future. Verne and Cryostar’s partnership is an important step towards building the high-density hydrogen fueling infrastructure needed to decarbonize the trucking sector!
🤝 Cryostar and Verne are collaborating to develop cryo-compressed hydrogen fueling solutions for heavy-duty vehicles. Read the press release to find out how both companies have partnered, moving towards building out the required high-density hydrogen refueling infrastructure for heavy-duty transportation. 📰Link to press release : https://lnkd.in/eBnayq6F #Cryostar #Verne #Hydrogen #H2 #HydrogenMarket

Verne received an award to develop cryo-compressed hydrogen solutions for the U.S. Army. The U.S. military is the largest consumer of oil in the world, emitting more than 50m tons of CO2 per year. The U.S. Department of Defense has played an integral role developing technologies from semiconductors to GPS to the internet. Hydrogen is an alternative fuel that can be generated onsite, removing reliance on complex supply chains. CcH2 can extend vehicle range without adding weight to the vehicle. Verne is thrilled to be attending the Wilkes Center for Climate Science and Policy Summit and to be one of 7 finalists for the Climate Launch Prize. The Climate Launch Prize supports first-of-a-kind projects for innovative climate technologies. Verne is developing the high-density hydrogen storage solution required to decarbonize the 12% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions coming from heavy-duty transportation.
HAPPY EARTH WEEK! The Wilkes Center at University of Utah announces 7 finalists for the $500,000 Climate Solutions Launch Prize The Climate Launch Prize supports innovative ideas from organizations at all stages, both for-profits and nonprofits – anywhere in the world – to help fund and accelerate solutions to climate change. The seven finalists are: * Capture6 * Climate Robotics * Octavia Carbon * Oscilla Power Inc. * Swanson and Lidstrom Labs * Taking Root * Verne The seven finalists will present their solutions at the upcoming Wilkes Climate Summit on May 14th at the Eccles Alumni House at the University of Utah. https://lnkd.in/grYEdkJ8 The finalists’ solutions will be evaluated by a team of expert judges for scalable impact, feasibility, and potential for co-benefits for communities, economies, or ecosystems. A single winner of the Launch Prize will be announced in September 2024. @_Capture6 @OctaviaCarbon @oscillapower @takingroot_reforestation_ @SwansonGroup_UT @uwcheme @uofu_chemistry @uofu_science @universityofutah

The hidden 85%: How to make hydrogen cost-effective Ted McKlveen and Bav Roy point out that delivery and refueling are responsible for a staggering 85% of hydrogen costs in transportation, with hydrogen production accounting for just 15% of final costs! "Investing in cost reductions across the entire hydrogen value chain, and not just in hydrogen production, will enable hydrogen to displace diesel fuel and usher in a new era of heavy-duty transportation." In case you missed it: Verne Co-founder & CTO David Jaramillo wrote about the importance of encouraging scientists to commercialize their research and form innovative startups. While David was completing his PhD in Materials Chemistry at University of California, Berkeley, David and Verne were lucky to receive support from Stanford University (TomKat Center), Caltech, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Breakthrough Energy Fellows. Investing in more programs to develop scientist-to-founder ecosystems is the best way to address some of the world’s toughest problems and achieve energy abundance!
