🎉 We're thrilled to introduce Amanda McClellan, the newest addition to the Vetel team!🎉 Born and raised in Visalia, CA, Amanda attended the College of Sequoias before moving to the central coast at 19. While Amanda doesn't have any dogs (despite being married to a dog trainer! 🐕), she shares her home with two adorable cats: Browser, a big, cuddly Siamese mix with striking blue eyes, and Pixel, a fluffy, energetic young cat with long white fur and the same beautiful blue eyes. She founded Worldwide Vets as a 2nd year vet student in 2011, after seeing many charities in Africa and Asia needing additional support. With so many students and professionals eager to travel, learn, and help, it was the start of great things. Today over 400 volunteers attend Worldwide Vets projects each year. Since 2022 Gemma has worked on the frontline in Ukraine saving pets, as well as balancing commitments on the frontline of wildlife conservation in Africa. An enthusiastic teacher, animal advocate and leader, whether she is dehorning rhino or rescuing dogs, she does it with passion and dedication. In a recent interview Dr Campling said "A single person can't win an award like this. It takes a whole team...like minded vets, nurses, techs, animal lovers, friends, and family, to give years of support, guidance and education. It is thanks to them I have managed to make Worldwide Vets into the international force for good that it is today". Dr. Ellen van Nierop, President of WSAVA, expressed her admiration for Dr. Campling’s achievements: “Dr. Campling is a credit to her community, as her work not only saves lives but also provides quality training opportunities for future generations of veterinarians".
