    Virginia Peninsula Foodbank seeks its next Chief Executive Officer. One in eight Virginians experience the daily hardships of food and nutrition insecurity, and Virginia Peninsula Foodbank (VPFB) is the leading hunger relief organization serving the greater Peninsula, which includes Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg, and the counties of Gloucester, James City, Matthews, Surry, and York. VPFB envisions a hunger-free Peninsula where each person can participate, prosper, and have access to food that is both nourishing and in keeping with their culture. The CEO partners with the Board and strong staff to continue to raise its visibility, increase funding to grow its impact, work closely with partner agencies, such as Feeding America, and ensures VPFB’s programs meet the needs of the community to overcome the systemic injustices that create and perpetuate conditions that sustain poverty, hunger, and health disparities. They will manage a team of 34 full-time and four part-time staff and oversee a budget of $5 million. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience, experience with foodbanks is a plus, significant experience growing an organization’s resources and impact, and proven business and financial acumen, including fundraising, budgeting, and grant development.
