The Employee Health and Wellness Unit launched in 2022 and promotes a safe work environment that protects the health and wellness of VADOC employees, helping them to further the Department’s mission of ensuring long-term public safety across the Commonwealth. Thank you to the veteran inmates at Pocahontas State Correctional Center and American Legion Post 775, who held a sock drive to support people in need. The PSCC Veterans Support Group purchased 178 pairs of socks and staff delivered the donation to the nearby Bluefield Union Mission in Bluefield, WV. Veterans at PSCC said they understand the importance of keeping feet healthy from basic training and saw the sock drive as an opportunity to take care of the community. Thank you again for this thoughtful donation!
