Marketing within 3PD platforms like DoorDash and Uber is one of the most consequential areas emerging within restaurant delivery. Platforms are on pace to achieve more than $3B in advertising revenue this year, and that doesn’t even include the value of restaurant funded offers (promos) that likely far exceed this amount. Without the proper tools, restaurants are at the mercy of the 3PD platforms. Uber and DoorDash calculate #ROAS based on the amount of revenue generated by click-through from a campaign. Uber also has a metric called Exposed ROAS which includes revenue from anyone who saw an ad and then returned to purchase within a set time. These ‘Reported ROAS’ metrics are dangerous because they do not exclude cannibalization (guests who would have purchased anyway without the discount or advertisement) and can double count revenue (if someone purchases through a sponsored listing that also has a promotion attached to it, the revenue counts to showing a ROAS for your sponsored listing and for your promotion). A simple way to understand your ‘Effective ROAS’ is to look at how much your total revenue changes as your marketing spend changes.  So, as an example if one week you spent $300 on marketing and had $6000 in total sales and the next week you spent $400 on marketing and had $6300 in total sales, your Effective ROAS for the second week would be 3x because ($6300 - $6000) / ($400 - $300) = $300 / $100 = 3x. Linked Eats: We built our Marketing+ product to optimize 3PD marketing spend at the Effective ROAS level.  Only in this way can restaurants be assured they are correctly spending to maximize how much revenue ends up in their pocket vs the pockets of the 3PD platforms. #VDC #LinkedEats

Brands break through when creators are given the freedom to run with their ideas. At Barstool Sports, we call it embracing weird brains. When asked by production if there were any specific notes, rules or guidelines for shooting the new Pardon My Cheesesteak commercial, the answer was simple. "Nothing. Just have fun." These guys certainly did just that. S/O Corey Scott Rutledge and team for being so brilliant. Alongside our great partners Virtual Dining Concepts, we're knee-deep in PMC's biggest fall season yet, in which we're reaching more consumers than ever before. And we're having fun doing it.

Virtual Restaurant Brands aren’t a new business model, they’ve been around for 60 years. KFC got its start as a virtual brand. Independent restaurants would pay four cents on each chicken they sold in exchange for the recipe, the right to feature it on their menus and use Harland ‘Colonel’ Sanders’ name and image for promotions. In 2023 KFC did nearly $24B in global brand sales. Not bad for a once ‘virtual’ brand. Franchising law even has a category for these types of ‘virtual’ businesses with exemptions federally and in most states for fractional franchises. Virtual Dining Concepts: We are leaning into Colonel Sanders’ innovative omnichannel approach to restaurant brands offering our partners the ability to generate revenues through our traditional virtual model or by integrating our brands into our partners’ core menus for in-restaurant dining. The results are astonishing.

Last week we released a new episode of DeliveringMore with Robert Earl! Watch/Listen Here: https://lnkd.in/eKSk9x69 Since his conversation with Jonathan Maze a few months back, I've been waiting for the right time to reach out and ask Robbie to sit down with me. And then the perfect opportunity arose. Virtual Dining Concepts acquired Sauce Pricing and announced a new product with Linked Eats in the span of a month's time. Virtual Brands hit the industry hard during the pandemic, and have been reduced to a bit of an afterthought as of late. But with partnerships like Pardon My Cheesesteak, Major League Baseball (MLB) Ball Park Bites, and NASCAR Refuel, VDC continues to expand the reach of massive IP's across the United States. And now they have their own product to help market, price, and drive revenue back to your brand. Watch Here: https://lnkd.in/eKtU_A5b

Thanks to a lot of hard work with our great partners at Virtual Dining Concepts over the last several months, Pardon My Cheesesteak is ready for its biggest football season yet, when we'll be reaching more consumers than ever before. We're so excited that hungry fans will find PMC food trucks and concession stands in various big-time football stadiums this weekend and each week throughout the fall/winter. Having multiple locations at Alabama, Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Arizona State, USC (just to name a few) college stadiums — as well as some NFL stadiums — shows how the brand continues to become more ingrained in the sports world and, more specifically, synonymous with fans' go-to gameday food. We've also doubled our direct database since the Super Bowl, thanks to deploying new marketing strategies, increasing distribution, and experimenting with expansive menu options that fans have come to love (s/o "The Max Special"). Championships are won in the offseason, right? Saturday can't come soon enough. pardonmycheesesteak.com
