Visana has the privilege of having Dr. Barbara Levy, MD, FACOG, FACS lead our team of women’s health experts as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Levy is one of only 1,300 Menopause Society Certified Practitioners in North America. While Visana clinicians are specially trained by Dr. Levy in the diagnosis and treatment of menopause, we believe our patients are the experts on herself and her body. Once she is a Visana patient, we are with her until her menopause symptoms resolve and she is back in the driver’s seat of her mind and body. #VisanaHealth #WomensHealth #MenopauseCare #MenopauseSupport #HealthcareLeadership #DigitalHealth #PatientEmpowerment #MenopauseAwareness #WomenInMedicine #ChiefMedicalOfficer #WomensHealthExperts #HealthcareInnovation

For over a year, menopause has “had a moment.” It’s the cover story on magazines, being discussed by notable women, but what does that mean for the rest of us? Menopause is a natural biological process, yet fewer than 30% of OB/GYNs are trained to treat it. Today is #WorldMenopauseDay but at Visana Health, we’re committed to normalizing menopause every day. What does that mean? Changing societal attitudes and perceptions of menopause is up to all of us through: ☑️ Education and awareness ☑️ Open dialogue with people of all genders ☑️ Terminology and messaging ☑️ Supportive workplaces ☑️ Community support ☑️ Healthcare access In addition to bringing world-class medical experts to women around the country, we also equip our partners with our framework to genuinely move the needle for women in midlife. #WorldMenopauseDay #VisanaHealth #MenopauseAwareness #WomensHealth #MenopauseCare #HealthcareAccess #MidlifeSupport #NormalizeMenopause #PatientEmpowerment #MenopauseEducation #CommunitySupport #WomensHealthMatters #HealthcareInnovation #SupportiveWorkplaces #MenopauseMatters

We are proud to highlight our Sky High in Music City night co-hosted by Oshi Health and Visana Health while attending AHIP’s Consumer Experience and Digital Health Forum held in Nashville on September 24-26. Attending was a broad spectrum health plans, digital health companies, and investors from the community who shared both great views from our rooftop lounge and meaningful points of view on the impact of new care delivery and payment models. Our core value of meaningfully impacting clinical outcomes while reducing care spend through virtual value-based specialty care resonated with those in attendance and we loved sharing insights how creating comprehensive women’s health programs create delightful patient experiences and phenomenal clinical outcomes that speak to both employers and patients alike. A big thank you to all attendees – together, we can drive improved access, quality and cost savings in women’s health care. #VisanaHealth #OshiHealth #WomensHealth #VirtualCare #ValueBasedCare #AHIP2024 #HealthcareInnovation

Women’s health in the US is at a critical crossroads. A recent report from the Commonwealth Fund, featured in Femtech World, reveals alarming disparities, with women’s health in “perilous” conditions across many southeastern states. The findings highlight growing inequalities, including higher cancer rates and preventable deaths, particularly in states with near-total abortion bans and limited healthcare access. Experts are calling for change, emphasizing the need for technology-driven solutions like virtual care, remote patient monitoring, and telehealth to improve access and outcomes. The challenges are clear: lack of Medicaid expansion, fewer OB/GYNs, and missed opportunities to screen and treat women at risk. At Visana Health, we stand with those advocating for innovative approaches to close these care gaps. It’s time to leverage digital health and innovative care models to ensure every woman, no matter where she lives, has access to high-quality, equitable healthcare. At Visana Health, we’re excited to see the femtech sector continue to grow and transform women’s healthcare, as highlighted in this recent Fast Company Executive Board article. While the industry is projected to reach a $1 trillion valuation by 2027, it’s clear there’s still a long way to go in addressing key gaps in care. Women’s health receives only 3% of digital health funding, yet women make up half the population and control 80% of healthcare purchasing decisions. This disparity presents both a challenge and an opportunity. At Visana, we’re committed to addressing women’s health issues across all stages of life. We believe in leveraging technology, scaling innovations, and driving the kind of change that not only improves access and affordability but also delivers better outcomes. As femtech continues to evolve, we’re proud to be part of the movement that’s shifting the conversation around women’s health and ensuring that every woman gets the care she deserves. A recent study led by King's College London has shown that self-sampling HPV kits could enable over 1 million more women in England to participate in cervical cancer screening over the next three years. This innovation not only makes cervical screening more accessible but also targets under-screened women, particularly from underserved communities. Offering convenience, choice, and empowering women to take control of their health, self-sampling HPV tests could dramatically boost screening rates and save lives. The YouScreen trial demonstrated that mailing kits directly to women’s homes or offering them at GP practices could make a big impact in increasing participation. As healthcare continues to evolve, it's essential that we explore solutions like this that can make a real difference in women's health and help in the early detection of cervical cancer.
