Vision To Learn provides free eye exams and glasses to children in underserved communities throughout the United States.
About us
Vision To Learn is the largest school-based vision care nonprofit in the country. VTL exists to address one basic premise – if you can’t see, you can’t learn. Vision To Learn provides eye exams and glasses to students in underserved communities to help them succeed in school and in life at no cost to the child or their family. See visiontolearn.org for current opportunities to make a difference in your community. Vision To Learn solves a problem affecting as many as 1.5 million children nationwide who lack the glasses they need to see the board, read a book, study math or participate in class. Kids in low-income communities and minorities are disproportionately affected. The problem is one of access as most of the kids, for a host of reasons, do not get to a doctor. Vision To Learn solves the problem by bringing the clinic to the kids at schools and community organizations and providing eye exams and glasses free of charge. Vision To Learn has accomplished a great deal since it was started in 2012 in Los Angeles and plans to use that experience to serve as a model for the rest of the nation.

✨ Clearer vision, brighter futures 👓 In partnership with Vision To Learn, The David & Nicole Tepper Foundation has announced a $1.5M multiyear commitment to provide no-cost eye exams and glasses for 30,000 students in Charleston County School District and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. To celebrate this partnership, Nicole Tepper joined Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC players and legends, Panthers mascot Sir Purr, Charlotte FC mascot Sir Minty, and the TopCats Cheerleaders at special events in Charleston and Charlotte to help local elementary students try on their new glasses for the first time in a hail of confetti and music. Vision To Learn is the nation's largest provider of eye care to children at schools. More from the Panthers: https://lnkd.in/eVFqPV5a

Say hello to Jocelyn! This past summer Jocelyn wanted to get her driver's license before entering her senior year of high school, but there was a problem...she needed glasses. Her parents went to schedule an appointment for her with a local eyecare provider, but they were told that the earliest available appointment was next year in January. It was beginning to look like Jocelyn wouldn't be able to get her driver's license in time for the start of school, when one of her old teachers heard about her situation and put her in contact with Vision To Learn. Vision To Learn was able to arrange for Jocelyn to receive her first eye exam ever from our team at Hartford Public Library's Dwight Branch. Our team confirmed that she did in fact need glasses, and were able to prescribe her with a pair of glasses that arrived just in time for her to get her driver's license before the year began. #visiontolearn #visioncare #hartford #Connecticut
