Money matters to people. People matter to us.

About us

Member-owned and committed to the communities we serve for more than 50 years, Visions Federal Credit Union strives to build relationships that accommodate every stage of life. At Visions, it's not just the money that's there when you need it. We are. We provide a safe place to keep and grow earnings while lending the money that buys a vehicle, gets the kids off to college, or makes home-ownership a reality. At Visions FCU, we pride ourselves on being "People Helping People". We dedicate our careers to this philosophy to realize our greater social purpose. As a not-for-profit organization, Visions exists to serve its members by making every member matter. We feel lucky that we get to have a positive impact in three states (NY, NJ, and PA), and countless communities. Whether it's our time or money that we're donating, we are committed to doing what it takes to show all the members of our communities that Visions cares. The commitment to community is truly one of our core organizational values, and it's demonstrated at all levels of the organization. - Federally insured by NCUA. - Equal housing opportunity lender.

  • Today is International Credit Union (ICU) Day®, a celebration of the credit union movement's history and achievements. The "Eight Cooperative Principles of Credit Unions" is what we use to help us distinguish who we are and what we do. Today, we take a closer look at the final two principles. Voluntary and Open Membership The primary principle of cooperatives worldwide, Voluntary and Open Membership proclaims inclusion while denouncing coercion and discrimination. We accept all who are “willing to accept the responsibilities and benefits of membership.” Member Economic Participation Members are the owners of credit unions. That means YOU benefit. That’s the biggest difference between us and banks. Our business model returns profits back to members in the form of fewer fees, lower rates on loans, and higher dividends on savings. Thank you for spending this week celebrating credit unions and learning more about our guiding principals. • This Thursday, we join credit unions around the world to celebrate International Credit Union (ICU) Day®. Cooperation Among Cooperatives This may seem obvious: cooperatives cooperate. Vital associations within our industry connect us to a dynamic, worldwide movement that strengthens our local impact on members and our communities. Our collective unity is bigger than our footprint and bigger than our nation. As a member of Credit Union National Association, we’re part of an even larger, global collective: the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), which works to ensure that more nations can benefit from strong credit unions in their own communities. Through associations such as these, we cooperate on regional, national, and international levels to improve the community and create a better world. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion With more than 50 branch locations, 900 permanent employees, 250,000 members and counting – we’re a diverse crowd! In addition to their range of financial needs, the Visions community represents different backgrounds, beliefs, and lifestyles, and we want them all to feel seen, heard, and welcome at Visions. Current ERGs support employees in our workforce who advocate for or identify as Hispanic, LGBTQIA2S+, women in leadership, or neurodivergent, among others. In our highly diverse and changing society, we’re eliminating inequalities when we reduce barriers and encourage participation from all – and there’s even a great business case for it! By improving our culture and inviting ideas from all levels of employees, we’re more competitive in our marketplace and increasing job satisfaction. It’s a win/win for Visions and a win/win for the community. Visit visionsfcu.org/about-us to learn more about Visions, our mission, values, and the credit union movement. #ICUDay2024

Democratic Member Control We’re accountable to our members. That means our volunteer Board of Directors, President/CEO, and staff leaders listen to your voice when making company decisions. Our Annual Meeting is available for all to attend. We also loop our members into our other news, from government advocacy to digital product launches to branch updates and other important details. Plus, we make sure it’s easy to find – on our website, in our MoneyMatters magazine, sent in mailings, and posted in branches . Through all these efforts and more, we’re keeping you informed and involved as an owner and member. Concern for Community At the heart of what we do, we’re committed to community – it’s one of the biggest differences between us and banks. While we serve our members, we develop our communities, support financial wellness in our homes, and give back in huge ways to support local causes. We’re here, invested in our communities and working to create better places to live, work, raise a family, and own a business. • This Thursday, we join credit unions around the world to celebrate International Credit Union (ICU) Day®. Financial cooperatives and credit unions have been around since the 1800s, evolving with a shared set of principles that govern and guide like-minded companies around the globe. The "Eight Cooperative Principles of Credit Unions" help to distinguish who we are and what we do. Each day we will be taking a closer look at these principals. Let's start with the first two: Autonomy & Independence Credit unions are independent and member-owned organizations. This means that they are not beholden to a larger corporation or outside stockholders. Members are the owners and have a say in how the credit union is run. Education, Training, & Information Credit unions educate and train members, employees and volunteers so they can contribute effectively to the development of the credit union. In addition, credit unions provide financial education for their members and the public.
