Visit Corpus Christi is a 501c6 Destination Management Organization contracted by the city of Corpus Christi with a mission to create a better community by sharing Corpus Christi with the world. The organization is primarily funded through Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) paid by visitors while staying overnight in hotels and short-term rentals. Visit Corpus Christi also has a non-profit foundation that supports the hospitality and tourism industry via education programs, raising and providing funding to individuals and businesses during times of need through the Visit CC Cares program.

It is a true honor to take over as Board Chair of Destinations International Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) Program; the tourism industry's highest individual educational achievement. I walked into Visit Topeka over a decade ago after successful award winning careers in restaurants and hotels and quickly learned I did not know as much as I thought about the traditional tourism industry. I was quickly referred to the CDME program as the best avenue to not only learn the industry but to become a leader in it. It was in these courses that I met my mentors Don Anderson, the godfather of the program, Craig Davis, CDME, Gary Sherwin and Maura Gast who I quickly clung to and haven't let go. And it was in the these courses where I met some of my closest industry friends in Cassandra McAuley, Brook Kaufman, Katherine O'Donnell, CDME and many others. Thank you all for not only making me a better tourism leader but a better human being. I would not be where I am in life without your cell phone numbers. Teaching courses in leadership, economic development and partnerships has been a highlight of my career because of fellow instructors and now friends like Kathleen Keller Davis, Milton Segarra, CDME, and Cody Chomiak, CDME. And seeing the future leaders of the industry like JJ Greer, CDME, STS, Christopher Moyer and Katie Ligon, CDME, M.S. and Aaron Werner, MPA go through the program. These next two years are going to be transformative for a program that now has as many students enrolled as there are graduates. I look forward to being a part of taking CDME to new heights and hopefully impacting others in the same way I have been.
