It’s that time of year again! The Visit Napa Valley 2024 Destination Symposium will commence Sept. 26 at The CIA at Copia in Napa. This annual event brings together tourism, hospitality and winery professionals throughout Napa Valley to identify new tourism opportunities and examine how their daily service makes an ongoing impact in the region. Visit Napa Valley is the official destination management organization for Napa County. We promote the region as an attractive travel destination and enhance its public image as a dynamic place to visit, live, and work. The Napa Valley consists of (from north to south) Calistoga, St. Helena, Rutherford/Oakville, Yountville, the city of Napa, American Canyon, and the outdoor recreation area of Lake Berryessa. The team at Visit Napa Valley handles marketing, group sales, public relations, social media, travel trade, partnership services, community and industry relations, administration and an on-site welcome center. Our team purposefully attends to our Culture of Excellence by living Visit Napa Valley's core values in terms of how we communicate, carry out our work and when engaging with our visitors, partners, business and each other. 1. Tourism generated $107.5 million in tax revenue in 2023, with two-thirds of that ($69 million) sourced directly from Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) which is collected from hotel visitors. These dollars feed the general funds of our local governments and enhance the quality of life for Napa Valley residents through the renovation of libraries, parks and recreation, road repair and more. Did you know... Napa Valley visitors are getting younger and more diverse? According to our 2023 Visitor Profile & Economic Impact Study, the average age has decreased from 46 in 2018 to 40 in 2023. Additionally, the number of Black visitors has nearly tripled, from 4% to 11% while Latino/Hispanic and LGBTQ visitors have each nearly doubled from 10% to 17% and nearly 4% to 8%, respectively.
