About us
Vistelar is a conflict management consulting and training institute focused on "Addressing The Entire Spectrum Of Human Conflict" at the point of impact — from before an interaction begins through to the consequences of how an interaction is managed. Vistelar offers a wide range of training programs that address how to: * Provide better customer service * Predict, prevent and mitigate conflict * Avert verbal and physical attacks * De-escalate conflict * Control crisis and aggression * Handle physical violence The results at the organizational level are: * Higher levels of customer satisfaction * Improved team performance, morale and safety * Reduced complaints, liabilities and injuries * Protected reputation, culture and business continuity * Reduced harm from emotional and physical violence * Decreased stress levels, lateral violence and bullying * Less compassion fatigue, absenteeism and turnover * Not having a damaging video show up on YouTube or the evening news Vistelar trains “contact professionals” who directly interact with the general public or an organization’s clients, organizational teams who want to improve their performance by better managing conflict, and individuals who must deal with conflict in their everyday lives. Vistelar’s methodologies have been proven in real-world environments for over thirty years and are the subject of several books and training manuals in Vistelar’s Confidence In Conflict and Conflict Management series. Vistelar offers its training via speaking engagements, workshops, and instructor schools — using both live and online methods of instruction. The company's vision is to make the world safer by teaching everyone how to treat each other with dignity by showing respect.

Treat People With Dignity By Showing Respect🛡️ Whether in the customer service industry, education, security, healthcare, prison system, etc, THIS is how you take care of customers, students, and even hardened criminals or drug addicts in an emergency room. 🏥 This saying is more than an adage or motto, it is how you handle anger, verbal abuse, at-risk behavior, and physical aggression – every time. Treat people with dignity by showing respect.📌 Vistelar has refined this to these five approaches: •See the world through the eyes of others •Listen with all your senses •Ask and explain why •Offer options, let others choose •Give an opportunity to reconsider It doesn’t matter if a situation can escalate to a life-or-death encounter or to an unhappy customer; the principles of how to treat people to achieve the best possible outcome remain the same. “Many nurses work with patients who are experiencing various levels of pain, fear, and emotional distress, which can sometimes lead to violence. As a result, nurses are sometimes choked by patients; and not only with their bare hands, but with I.V. tubing, electrical cords, medical device leads, I.D. lanyards, and even bed sheets! This places them, of course, in great danger of asphyxiation, spinal cord injury, loss of blood flow to the brain, and damage to the airway.” Want to know a simple technique that can help in this type of situation? Healthcare workers face a growing threat of violence, with verbal and physical assaults becoming increasingly common since the pandemic. Once hailed as heroes, they now work under constant fear of abuse, which is driving many away from the industry. The piece highlights personal experiences of assaults on healthcare workers, such as being physically injured and blamed for upsetting patients. Unlike other industries, healthcare workers are expected to de-escalate violent situations without repercussions for the perpetrators. The author of this opinion piece stresses that laws, such as the SAVE Act, must be passed to protect healthcare workers, similar to North Carolina's 2015 House Bill 560, which made assaults on healthcare providers a felony. While understanding the heightened stress of vulnerable patients, the author insists that violence from those aware of their actions is unacceptable. Federal legislation is urgently needed to ensure healthcare workers' safety, which would ultimately benefit patients and institutions alike. ❓What are your thoughts on this? Today, October 10th, is World Mental Health Day—a day dedicated to raising awareness and mobilizing efforts to support mental health. Discussions around mental health are becoming increasingly common, which is a positive development as it indicates a gradual reduction in the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Healthcare workers and others should feel empowered to discuss mental health openly. While progress has been made, there is still much work to be done. Vistelar acknowledges the stresses faced by healthcare professionals and those in other high-stress contact professions. We want you to know that we support you. @nami #nami #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealth #healthcare #healthcareprofessionals #healthyminds #notpartofthejob #contactprofessionals #wesupportyou
