We are so grateful for our partnership with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin! Our pantry helps so many individuals and families in Milwaukee thanks to generous donations from our partner organizations.
It requires dozens of helping hands and an impressively-skilled operations, warehouse, and volunteer team to lead donated food on a journey from our food bank to one of our pantry partners. 🍎 ➡ 🚛 This video brings you along for the ride on a pallet as Brennen Scarborough explains each of the steps we take from 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 Vivent Health and Pick 'n Save

APPE #1: Complete ✅ This month I had the wonderful opportunity spend pride month at Vivent Health in Kansas City, learning about the ways we can impact the lives of our patients living with HIV. Through countless hours of shadowing and discussing with other members of the healthcare team at Vivent, I was able to better understand our role as pharmacists and the support we can provide our patients when working in an interdisciplinary team. Additionally, I was able to see the power of advocacy first hand, as the clinic promoted safe sex practices and awareness surrounding STIs. At this rotation I was given a propagation— something I want to keep as a symbol of growth and new adventure. Like the cutting I was given, I’ve been given the opportunity to grow— but I still, of course, have a lot of growing left to do. I know the time I’ve spent with Vivent has provided me with invaluable experience as I continue forward both in my pharmacy career, and as an advocate for equity in healthcare. 🫶

The LGBTQIA+ community experiences higher rates of food insecurity compared to non-LGBTQ+ individuals, according to the Food Research & Action Center. Together with Hunger Task Force, we work every day to address this food insecurity. In Milwaukee alone, our food pantry is available to almost 4,000 people living with HIV. https://lnkd.in/g7pYMZCU

"For Keeton and Emily Blaiklock, vice president of pharmacy at Positive Impact Health Centers, this program especially helps them care for patients that are living with or are vulnerable to HIV in the United States. Keeton explained that the program is designed to stretch funding as far as possible to provide comprehensive care for patients; in his case, patients with HIV." https://lnkd.in/g5KG9iir
