In honor of #NationalFoodBankDay, our staff at the Market Heights Neighborhood Program joined forces with Lawson Companies and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore and the Hope House Foundation to host another food distribution for the vulnerable residents living at the Market Heights Apartments in Norfolk. August 31 is National #OverdoseAwarenessDay and our NC team is getting ready! Recently, our Director of Operations for Carolinas Programs, Cyndi Thompson, attended a Bladen County Substance Misuse Task Force meeting led by Bladen County Health and Human Services Agency to discuss event plans. We are honored to be members of this important task force of like-minded organizations dedicated to helping to reduce substance misuse and addiction, prevent overdose deaths, and improve the quality of life in Bladen County.

🌞🎒 What an amazing day we had at our Operation Backpack® backpack giveaway event with Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, WBFF FOX 45, Wellpoint and Whole Foods - Towson! The kids and families had a blast with the moon bounce, giveaways and bbq. Earlier this month, we had the honor and privilege of participating in the Guthrie Village Groundbreaking Ceremony alongside our partners, Durham Community Land Trustees, Inc.. Guthrie Village will represent an innovative approach to veteran housing, featuring homes constructed using modular shipping containers. As the onsite supportive services provider, we are looking forward to helping future Guthrie Village residents in need achieve and maintain long-term health and wellbeing.
