Did you know that AmeriCorps recruits and engages veterans in #NationalService to help solve local challenges? AmeriCorps has made engaging veterans and military families a priority focus area, with more than 13,000 veterans serving every year in AmeriCorps programs. These veterans utilize their military experience to #GetThingsDone on the home front. #Stand4Service #VeteransDay

About us
Entering our 20th anniversary year, Voices for National Service has worked to create and expand federally-supported service opportunities in America since 2003. As a coalition of national and local service programs, state service commissions, and individual champions of service, we work to educate the nation’s leaders on the impact of national service programs and to develop bipartisan support for the federal investment in national service initiatives. Voices for National Service is proud to represent the diversity of the entire national service family, including programs supported by AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps Seniors, The Volunteer Generation Fund, and State Service Commissions. The coalition's work is driven by our members and is overseen by a Steering Committee of leaders from the national service community. Our work would not be possible without financial support from our member organizations. #NationalSpeakUpforServiceDay recognizes the power and transformational impact that service can have on both those serving and those being served. However, #NationalService funding is at risk, with Congress threatening to *eliminate* ALL funding for AmeriCorps. Take a #Stand4Service today on #NationalSpeakUpforServiceDay and tell your elected officials why service matters to you: http://bit.ly/CCFY25. Then take one minute to share this form and ask someone else to #SpeakUpForService too.

Whether cleaning up debris, gutting homes, connecting people to services, sorting donations, or coordinating volunteers, AmeriCorps members continue to #getthingsdone for those affected by the #HurricaneHelene and #HurricaneMilton - like these #nationalservice members serving with American Red Cross of South Carolina. Thank you for your service!
A hardworking team of AmeriCorps volunteers joined the American Red Cross in South Carolina this week to assist with Hurricane Helene relief efforts. Americorps members (L to R) Cassie Homitz and Moriah Weeks are pictured sorting clean-up supplies with their team on a recent afternoon at the Red Cross supply depot in Greenville. The hundreds of kits they assembled with tarps, garbage bags, work gloves, flashlights and other essential items were sent to North and South Carolina residents in areas hardest-hit by the hurricane. Cassie, Moriah and the Americorps team have been staying in a Red Cross shelter in Greenville and spending long days driving supply trucks and helping the Red Cross with tasks to help get local communities on the way to recovery after Hurricane Helene. Thank you, Americorps! We are grateful for your help.

When disaster strikes, AmeriCorps members are on the front lines, providing compassionate and flexible support to communities in need. They mobilize quickly, ready to respond and help rebuild. 💪 Here are just a few examples of their powerful impact during Texas disasters: 🔨In 2013, Texas Conservation Corps at American Youthworks members deployed to West, Texas, after a fertilizer plant explosion, managing 120 tons of donations and over 5,000 volunteers in the aftermath. 🔨In 2017, 428 AmeriCorps members from 18 programs across the state provided over 5,000 hours staffing the Crisis Cleanup hotline to help individuals impacted by #HurricaneHarvey. 🔨In 2021, AmeriCorps members serving with SEWA International USA delivered over 43,000 pounds of food and thousands of gallons of water after #WinterStormUri. No matter the crisis, AmeriCorps is there, bringing hope and relief when it’s needed most. #AmeriCorps30

Jasmine Pierce has spent the year with an amazing program, Americorps, working for good all over the US from tornado clean-up to veteran counseling to park preservation. Today in Pennsylvania she made the news! Catch her interview here: https://lnkd.in/gBfUU2s2. We are so proud of our daughter.

When America calls, AmeriCorps answers. This time, joining hundreds of other #nationalservice members already on the ground, AmeriCorps NCCC team members from Iowa were deployed to North Carolina this week to help with #HurricaneHelene disaster response. However, without increased funding, fewer AmeriCorps members will be available to deploy to hard-hit areas across the Southeast. Take a #Stand4Service and ask your lawmakers to increase - not cut - funding for #nationalservice: bit.ly/CCFY25

We’re joining Service Year Alliance today in celebrating corps members who went above and beyond to bridge divides across lines of difference during their service year. As Service Year Alums Awards recipients, these corps members came together across divides to listen and understand, to find common ground, build relationships, and to make collaboration the norm. Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients! Follow @Service Year Alliance to meet this year’s awardees. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/emsgbbd5 #ServiceYearAwards #BridgingDivides
