Thank you Javier Cruz at Volvox Labs for sharing your journey and work. It gave students an opportunity to see how one's personal interest and passion turned into career. It was wonderful to see the range of immersive experiences and know of the process of crafting them done by both Volvox Labs and your students. Thank you Michael Schneider for making the connect with Javier Cruz. We all had lot of food for thought about what is contextual immersive experience, which is site and culture specific. Repurposing technologies and waste management was another point of discussion. Magical experience is one of the human experiences which makes us human and crafting it is not just a process of making something magical for others but true learning must bring the sense of wonder in one’s own creation process. Each one of us has to learn to nurture, develop and practice this creation process, which at the end of the day is like weaving of multiple strands into one. OFFFMX-BBVA DAY 2 🇲🇽 Day 2 brought even more inspiration with talks from some of the world’s top creative minds with all tickets sold out! We had Cocolab International / Hornet presenting festival’s branding and Main Titles / Volvox Labs / Nathalie van Sasse van Ysselt / &Walsh / Timothy Goodman with a poetry reading and live mural painting! The day closed with a captivating AV performance of “Materia” by Mathieu Le Sourd aka Maotik. Thank you all for being part of this unforgettable experience! See you at the 2025 edition! ✌️

14 years ago, while exploring the jungles of Costa Rica and sharing ocean dives with underwater creatures, the seed of Volvox Labs was planted. Growing up close to nature in Poland instilled in me a constant craving for the beauty, tranquility, and vibrancy of nature. There's a part of me that's forever yearning for it. After arriving in America and exploring nature in this part of the world, watching the majestic tropical creatures and forms evolving in their habitats, ebbing and flowing, finding the perfect rhythm against the odds - I found my music, my people, my habitat that is now Volvox Labs. It's more than just a place; it's my heartbeat, my tribe, my sanctuary. Finally, I've found where I belong, where my passion for nature meets the rhythm of life. Tapping into the dynamics of nature and the rhythms of the self-organized flow of New York City has driven the Volvox team to adopt digital tools and methodologies that enabled us to be nimble with the physics of light, fluid, particles, and other natural phenomena. With these tools, we have always strived to orchestrate and bring movement and magic into the spaces that we create and augment. Over the years and countless projects and adventures, Volvox has gathered an amazing band of artists and craftspeople who find passion in teasing out the multi-sensory connection of human experience. Through motion, sound, interaction, kinetics, and digital fabrication our team approaches each project holistically, understanding human experience across all senses. Over the last ten years, we have created amazing work, built trusted relationships, and provided the Lab for our team to Observe, Tinker, and Construct in. After this memorable decade of exploration, learning, iterating, and engaging with humans and spaces, I am excited to announce the next step in our evolution as Michael Schneider has joined our team as CEO and Director of Media Architecture. Michael inspires us with his passion for bringing spaces to life along with 20 years of industry experience designing and building digital experiences for the built environment. Our habitat is evolving, Volvox is adapting and creating new pathways into an exciting new future. I couldn't be more honored and thrilled to share our next steps with Michael in creating the new generation of what we started 10 years ago. Driven by nature, we seamlessly fuse the digital and physical to create work that moves, inspires, and elevates the human experience.
