About us
Voorhees University is a four-year, co-educational, career-oriented liberal arts college affiliated with the Episcopal Church and the United Negro College Fund. Voorhees University is fully accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's degrees. Founded in 1897 by Elizabeth Evelyn Wright-Menafee, who was barely older than some of today's students, Voorhees University has a rich history and a bright future. We're a fully accredited historically black liberal arts college that offers degrees in 12 disciplines – a number that's growing as we grow. Through our long-standing affiliation with the Episcopal Church, Voorhees focuses on developing students spiritually as well as intellectually.

#ICYMI Yesterday, Voorhees University held its 2nd Annual Pink October Breast Cancer Awareness Walk! The Honors College, in partnership with the Student Government Association (SGA) and Student Health Services, brought the VU family together to walk in the fight against breast cancer. This year’s theme, "Don’t Talk About It, Be About It," encouraged participants to take action, learn, and educate others about breast cancer awareness. We gathered in the Pecan Grove to show our support, and the energy was inspiring! Let’s keep the momentum going by continuing to raise awareness and support this important cause! #pinkoctober #breastcancerawareness #vuhonors #walkforacause #stayinformed #VUfamily #HBCU
