We had an amazing time at the Texas A&M University #AEI Career Fair yesterday! A big thank you to the committee for organizing such a great event. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a steady stream of students, with our only break in the three hours being a quick dash to grab some water. It's incredibly rewarding to see so much interest in the field of structural engineering. We feel privileged to work on exciting projects that inspire the next generation of engineers to follow this career path. Stunning views made possible through close collaboration with a talented architectural team, dedicated general contractors, and skilled subcontractors. The distinctive architectural design called for unique structural detailing, including the use of a steel 'tree' type of support to accommodate the extended overhangs and shallow corners of the porte cochere. It is always satisfying to see the project finished!

So, what’s been on the agenda? 📚 DC-20 Building Design Committee: The team is putting the final touches on their webinar modules, reorganized for better educational flow, and set to launch at the start of the 2025 education program. They’re also developing a new guide for the Design and Construction of Post-Tensioned Buildings, with a publishing target of 2026. 🔄 DC-25 Parking Structure Committee: The committee is revamping the Design, Construction, and Maintenance of Post-Tensioning Parking Structures guide, originally published in 2001, with a refreshed edition also slated for 2026. We had an amazing time at the 37th Annual AIA Sandcastle Competition this past Saturday!
