We are thrilled to share an update on the Springfield Town Center project in Springfield, VA—marking the first new residential units since 2001! This unique project features a residential building, connected by a preexisting garage retrofitted to meet new needs. Extensive coordination was required to match the building elevations with the existing garage and the adjacent steel pedestrian bridge. Currently under construction, the residential apartment building will consist of three levels of post-tensioned concrete and five levels of wood framing, ultimately providing 439 residential units across just over 465,000 ft². Future residents will also enjoy a pool and an arbor courtyard connected by a pass-through loggia. The Turtle Creek site continues to grow! We are excited to announce the groundbreaking of Turtle Creek Phase II, a 20-story cast in place concrete high-rise adjacent to the previously topped out Phase I tower. With luxurious amenities and incredible views of the surrounding area from the roof top pool deck, this development will offer residents a great place to call home. A couple of weeks ago, the thick concrete mat supporting the main elevator core was poured. Due to its size, special monitoring of this foundation’s temperature during curing was required to ensure it will achieve the necessary strength and remain durable throughout the life of the project. Though there were challenges which arose with the heavy rains the Dallas area has experienced lately, the field team did a great job of following the temperature control plan which has put the project on the path to success!
